Please rate this drama if you watching it and do it fairly. I can only think that a rating this low is caused by haters. Bcs this drama is super B. Best xianxia I watched in years.

God this drama is so good, I really hope Cdramaland will have drama like this more often.

And I like how they threw in little subplots but it's not freaking fillers and actually make total sense and connection with what was going on.

After all these years of me watching dramas, I came to the conclusion that one small detail can ruin everything. You can wait for the drama to be good bcs everything on the surface is good about it but all these good details could just didn't fit in.
Actually, Checkmate is a good example of how plus minus same conditions didn't work out bcs the script and directing ruined a perfectly good premise and actors' chemistry.
AX did a very good job as a Cdrama reviewer to dissect what she was waiting for and why it just didn't turn out well. And I really appreciate it.

She actually was very excited about Checkmate bcs she liked My roommate is detective so much but it turned out very boring. Not good script and direction unfortunatly.

So Avenue X did a stream abt CLJ last night
First half an hour it was ranting abt yt and Google then ~20-30 min about LLTG, BaH, OtG3, and Checkmate, and 1 hour and a half abt CLJ
The points I remembered abt details
She said that we have so many crappy dramas that when coming out decent ones with respect from the production team to their viewers and for us, it's like a miracle
When in fact every drama needs to be like this
She also mentioned how well-connected script is and if you are attentive enough you can pick up it here and there
For example how DFQC wiped tears of XLH. The same way how his maid wiped his tears when he was little.
The second one is when DFQC is on the battlefield and he asked his dragon what happened while he was away. Dragon said Heavens took some area from them not a long time ago (Beyin (?)).
And after 10+ eps when XLH is trying to freeze herself in the cave she said to Jielin that mb she is an unknown flower from this Beyin area and fairies didn't add this flower to their database so Turtle didn't manage to classify her. Nice detail.
3rd one was when XLH briefly mentioned that she want to go to Peach fairy so she will make her a Flower rain bcs she likes it so much, and later he did it for her when they were celebrating (when he took off the ring so he could feel her happiness)
She said that there are many many tiny connected details that show that this script went through multiple times with care and attention.
This is very good command work.
She also always liked Esther, and Dylan surprised her very much
Her voice did not bother her and she complimented her clear pronunciation of words
And she praised WHD dubber to the Heaven lol
She said WHD need to send him additional money and gifts secretly
Bcs it feels like this voice is coming out from WHD mouth

IDK why score at MDL is so low bcs it hands down the best and most coherent xianxia I saw in min 3 years.
Love between fairy and devil keeps killing it.
Behold! Xianxia with logical plots and no loose ends! Everything is connected and actually makes sense!

And I like how when you find some point illogical or out of placex but drama actually EXPLAINED to you why it was like this later.
