This is why I hate getting emotionally attached to dramas ๐ฅฒ
I've been on chinese dramas spree for 2 months now after jumping the korean train. I guess I gotta go back to korean/japanese ones again lol. I always feel betrayed by c-dramas but always come back. I swear I will never learn.
The screen writers Weibo post!!! ( I've translated it to english.Weibo textWang Hong x Bamboo Feast 5 hours ago…
I am thankful for having a great imagination but they can sincerely shove it up their *****. I will never understand how chinese dramas they cannot spare even like a 3-5minute extra to give a happy ending that is in the novel and instead give us a short written note/photos and that "alternative time" crap T____T
The novel has a HE. Are you telling me it is not the case for the drama? Are you for real? Are you sure Shen's dead dead? Is there a good explanation??? Is there no extra episode??? ๐ญ Now I don't know if I should stop at ep 23... I really want it to be a HE. I had high hopes especially after it passed a double censorship.
Another episode and Li Ying still doesn't fail to weird me out ๐ If I didn't know the novel's plot, I would think this is slight BL in the recent episodes, which I don't mind but Li Ying acts stalkerish. He is no boyfriend material haha. I understood his motive a bit at first, but it seems ridiculous now on his part since he learnt Shen's secret.
till now have they completely followed the story in the book? or there were changes?
There were a lot of changes, because the censorship gods said so lol. The drama was made in 2022 If I recall well and many thought it would not be released. It got a green light only after a second censorship ๐ฎโ๐จ However, the drama is better than the novel in my opinion. The novel is also quite short ;)
Despite his long life szh has come off as naive to me from the very beginning
Alright haha. After Milan got turned into a vampire she rather quickly accepted her inhuman identity and had no qualms about using her powers to fight off/kill the bad guys (due to censorship they deleted the part of fighting the Japanese) who were trying to hurt her or Shen. She proved that despite being a vampire you can still keep your humanity. You just gotta do what you must if you are cornered and want to protect your loved ones. After she saved Shen, he did not criticize her for her actions. He "(...) suddenly thought that he had lived awkwardly for more than a hundred years. Was it time to accept his fate?" ;)
And why the hell are the episodes getting shorter๐ญ๐
the novel is really short. Just like e.g. The legend of shen li and they followed similar pattern. The drama's pace and content is so far great! :) storytelling falls short at times because it went through two censorship cuttings.
I hope Uncle Li gets a gruesome ending and not getting revived as a vampire by Situ. The novel's author was too merciful. He makes me sick.โ ๏ธ Ep 10 ending was so damn sad... poor Shen :(

What a shame if they did change it. I loved the dynamics between Situ and Milan.
I will just pretend she is 18/19 in the drama.
