Most of the historical drama don't end well, for example, Queen for seven days, moonlovers, iljimae etc... but there are still a lot out there where it is cutesy and lovey dovey :)

Sometimes, I prefer the sad endings. Somehow, dramas that have sad ending leaves a bigger impact on me ! But nonetheless, I do enjoy happy endings too like the ones you mentioned!

I agree that not all HS drama are better than MD dramas in terms of romanticity. There are really some that bores me, but I am a pretty picky watcher so I tend to like every HS dramas I watch!
