I love those comments about "child labor" from overprivileged people who have never faced hunger (I haven't either, but people in my immediate family have, at wartimes, and these memories are impossible to suppress and they color they childhood of children growing up around you, like never throwing away food). What would you rather have, children dead from starvation, or children doing work that does not even affect their health to put food on the table?
Mix is studying to be a vet so he's referred to as a doctor.
Cue in the scene from Senior Secret Love: Puppy Honey, with Off's character having his entire arm inside a cow mock-up's vagina. Being a vet is not about just cute puppies and kittens!
How hard is it to get an A/C replaced? We are in episode 4, presumably more than four weeks have passed in the story, and Prab is still sleeping on the floor in Chol's room.
I call BS on the scene with the camera, where they are taking a picture of the moon. To start with, that's a Canon 5D, probably a MarkIV; that's a $2500 camera just for the body, yet they are using some really cheap lenses on it. Then they are taking a picture of the moon; the 5D has a full-frame sensor; for the moon to take about a third of the vertical space, they would need a 1000mm lens, not what's at most a 200mm cheap zoom lens, which would also not be anywhere near fast enough to take a hand-held picture of the moon, no matter how steady hands you've got or how high you crank up the sensor sensitivity.
Yes, these little details bother me. No, I have no social life :)
What if it is? Incest is only a problem when there is the possibility of procreation. It's bad genetics. Just…
At least Europe no longer has lèse-majesté laws. And some of the newer royals are half-way decent people; the King of the Netherlands is a commercial airline pilot; he used to fly for KLM, somewhat incognito, before he ascended to the throne. The crew knew, of course, but it was never announced to the passengers. I also assume there were several heavies on the plane, just in case :)
For an Off-White hoodie, that very much is a bargain.
I didn't even know there was a brand named Off-White, let alone that it made way-overpriced garbage. I doubt that hoodie is any better at keeping people warm than the $20 one I can get a K-Mart. Except, of course, it doesn't shout out "look how rich and shallow I am that I can afford to burn a few hundred dollars".
Phupha moves the snail ... my first reaction: ooooooo and then :no, Phupha, don't do that !!! maybe snail wanted…
Was it in Love By Chance where one of the minor characters (Kengla?) is caught loitering outside his house, and says something about collecting snails for a project and how they move so fast? :)
Things may be different in Thailand, but in New York I had classmates with lots of money, who could easily have been living in the presidential suite at the Waldorf Astoria if they so desired, who lived in the same crummy dorm rooms as anyone else. It's called wanting to fit in, and wanting to be on campus.
