I'm happy they changed things, and improved the editing. As I suggested in S01, they need to reframe it to show…
The shift from gifts being the main focus and having the guests partake in the activity was definitely two of the most popular suggestions. It seemed intrinsic to have the guest participate in the activity.

I also agree, guests themselves don't really seem like they care that they didn't get the gifts except in S1 the cast would make it a big deal so the guests had to seemingly react like they were disappointed and would try to almost "cheer up" the cast by saying it's ok. Just a uncomfortable/awkward vibe created for no reason. I also think taking away the gifts quickly as soon as they lose is unnecessary, just again seems like an unnecessary way to rub it in.

I can't be the only one that doesn't want romance between the siblings 😭😭 It just doesn't feel right

This comment is purely for those that are comparing this to Go ahead and saying it's not the same, or it feels soulless:

No, I didn't watch the original show. I still think there's an argument to be made however. This also applies to most remakes, specially ones that are adapting recent shows.

I will argue that you'll never be satisfied from remakes largely in part due to the nostalgia you attachment you have to Go ahead. Given that the show is also very recent (aired in 2020) it's not too long ago. The original series will always be viewed through a "rose-tinted lens," making the new version feel like a poor imitation regardless of how well the show is made objectively. Unfortunately all the deviations from the original, no matter how small, are magnified and we interpret them as flaws because it doesn't give the same feeling as the original show.

Not to mention, the cast makes a big difference, and there is always a different screenwriter, director that bring their own styles to the remake. Everyone who watched Go Ahead and are big fans of that show seem to be really unforgiving, and again I think because the original production is so recent and relevant it's making the remake seem inauthentic.

People typically forget that the original also had it's own flaws, that were overlooked at that time. Every show has these and while I didn't watch the original, I can still say that remakes are just scrutinized a lot more because we have a reference to compare it with. I also feel like there's more selective memory at play because the original series never had to meet expectations, or at least there wasn't such a high standard.

We're only 2 episodes in, but I also think that a lot of expectation is set on this show being exactly the same as the original, but if it's too similar then some might argue that it's just a copy paste of Go ahead. If there's any changes to the story, then we're also going to criticize that this isn't like the original! Not saying that there isn't a good balance, which I hope the directors consider and take.

The directors did nasty work this last episode, If you didn't get emotional I have to say you're either bulletproof or you just have no emotions 😭

Episode 6 was so good, not a single dull moment. Looking forward to next ep. Tbh this show feels underrated to me rn

Your Number 3: He is not the Main Male Lead. The drama's main story is about the family of the woman he keeps…
Thanks for the correction. My point however remains the same. I was trying to say, he's not a supporting role rather a main role. I was expecting his role to have more of an impact on the over all story.
On Romance in the House Sep 3, 2024
There's a couple of reasons I've decided to actually drop this drama. Usually I tend to stick through if I've made it this far, but 7 episodes in and there's seemingly no end to criticisms I have for the show: (I have not watched episode 8, and pretty much don't plan to)

1. No Plot Development: The drama seems to be stuck in a rut with minimal progress in the storyline. All these episodes later, and the characters don't seem to evolve or move forward. Instead, the show relies on repetitive conflicts that don't add any dept, leading me to my next point.

2. Repetitive Storyline: It's a never-ending loop of the same trope over and over again. The constant cycle of the daughter arguing with her mother, reconciling, and then continuing to harbor resentment towards her father feels like a never-ending merry-go-round, not to mention constant bickering with her sibling. The lack of variety in the conflicts makes it predictable and tiresome.

3. Underdeveloped Male Lead: Surely I can't be the only one that thinks the male lead is barely given any lines, leaving his character underdeveloped and uninteresting. Even this far into the series, there's no solid explanation for his strained relationship with his father. This lack of depth makes it hard to connect with or care about his character.

My final point is probably the harshest criticism for this show: 4. The script is inconsistent. The script or scenarios often come across as disjointed and nonsensical. There are moments that leave you wondering what the writers were thinking.

In the midst of all of this batshit crazy cesspool comment section, I would like to express my opinion that as another guy, I always forget how damn sexy Lee Soo Hyuk's voice is.

Somehow I missed that this show contained n*dity and I made a mistake by watching with my (conservative asian)…
LOL I feel bad but this is hilarious to me because I can put myself in your shoe and imagine the horror on my moms face. I was caught off-guard by that as well.

I wanted to give this a shot, and I did. There's just way better stuff out there which makes this show feel like a waste of time. Not really my cup of tea.
On Sweet Home Season 3 Jul 26, 2024
Nothing beats the 1st season, this is definitely the least satisfying out of the 3. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't watch it. As a complete show with all things considered, it's definitely worth watching.

What I think is that this drama is excellent at not to taking itself seriously. For me, King the Land and the…
You're absolutely on the mark! That's what I meant to say but you just worded it better :). This drama is almost self-aware of the cringey scenes and adds comedy to it which makes it even better.
This drama is like your typical plot that has been repeated over the years such as King the land, business proposal or My Secretary Kim. It's one where you shut your brain off and don't question anything. Honestly you should not watch this if you're expecting some sort of grand plot or have very high expectations. This drama is literally just fan service for those who like Chaebol + poor woman in a romance with comedy sprinkled all over.

This dating show made me lose trust in people, how are people so easily able to discard hours, days and weeks of moments and memories and become confused just a moment before? How can it mean so little? This statement really applies to almost everyone on this show to be honest. Just few examples, YW the biggest one, literally in two days he diverted 100% of his attention to JW instead of ChoA, then you have who SS entertained the idea of contemplating when she confused YW's words being directed at her on the secret date.
Same thing with Jiwon - contemplating ONE day before and ditching Jae-hyung.
JS also had a similar situation, when he was all in with SS he suddenly went on one date with ChoA and would've 100% committed if she reciprocated while ditching SS.
Lastly you have yunha who also picked YW after just one date with him, ditching yunjae. she defended herself by saying it was to "thank" him but that seems like bullshit.

These people have no back-bone it's crazy. Yes three weeks is a short time, BUT YOU'RE LIVING TOGETHER, SPENDING ALMOST 24 HOURS TOGETHER. That's far more than the average person spends when they go on dates, and people are able to make up their minds quicker if they want to start a relationship after 3-4 dates.

Yoo Yeon Seok better concentrate in the acting field, you're not made to do variety shows.
He's not terrible, but I agree completely. I think in every episode the guests outshined him. YJS with Lee Kwangsoo or Cha Taehyun wouldve been a much funnier duo.
On The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Jun 2, 2024
Now that this drama is pretty much half way through, I tried to lock in and enjoy it but I think this drama's plot and pace is boring and slow for me, I'm sure this show has audience that would enjoy the slow burner type drama. The chemistry is ok, but I feel like I need to make an effort to pay attention.
Going to have to drop it. The past me would've sat through the entire show hoping it would get better but not anymore. Lots of better shows out there.
