God the hospital scenes and surgery scenes toward the last 3-4 episodes were so repetitive and boring to watch. Really made the show boring. Bearable tho because of goated cast
I commented yesterday saying that lots of valid criticism and that this show wasn't as bad as the ratings made it out to be, after watching the ending I've done a pretty big Uturn.. The easiest way to describe this show is emotionless. This drama doesn't make you feel any type of way, there's no substance. Even the ending of the drama they really try to invoke emotions with the music, past memories, etc and it doesn't do anything.
This is one of those shows that I would highly recommend watching the first couple episodes to decide if you like it or not. The ratings are skewed, not sure why people are dogpiling and tanking the rating of this drama. Lots of valid criticism but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. I actually thought this show was enjoyable, but you just have to close your eyes on stuff that doesn't make sense and learn to look past it, if you critique every little thing about the show then yes of course it will take away from its enjoyability.
Two things this season did awfully bad compared to the other seasons, 1. it's the participants joining mid-season, specially Sang Jeong & Min Hyung. They didn't shake anything up or sway the other participants in the least bit. Usually in dating shows people who join mid-season are meant to have really strong personalities and even leave a strong impression visually. In reference I'm going to use single's inferno as an example, for the most part when the new participants join they shake things up. But in Exchange, this season they haven't wavered anyone in this season. The other one is how late the other participants joined. Like one week to get to know and adjust is so little and unfair to the new participants.
this show lowkey never should've even had romance, it feels so forced and out of touch and theres like 0 chemistry between both ML's and the FL. and don't get me started on the FL acting id rather the both ML's kissed eachother instead.
You know the cast outperformed themselves when during the whole show you feel in-sync with Jung Ji Ahn, suspicious of every person, vehicle etc, but as soon as you see familiarity you feel a gush of emotions of safety and gladness, specially during the last episode. Truly a work of art, this show deserves all the praise. My only wish would be that the final episode needed to clarify more - I guess they left it as an open ending for a potential season 2.
There's 3 people I can't help but root for because they've been so genuine throughout the whole series so far and I hope that doesn't change, hope all of them have a happy ending (Dong Jin, Da Hye and Hyewon)
Had to drop this drama after Ep 10, part of me wanted to lock in and stay till the end, but I know there's no salvaging this drama now. I'd rather spend those 6+ hours on something enjoyable.
If gwanhee was Muslim he would enjoy the marrying 4 women thing so much he is unbearably pathetic (i'm muslim…
Please don't comment on something you're ignorant about; while polygamy is permitted in Islam: It also states "and if you fear you will not deal justly, then marry only one or what your right hands possess. That is the nearest way for you to avoid injustice."
Also, polygamy was a solution in crisis - it is mainly for war-time situations. There is an increase in the number of widows and orphans. For such situations, Islam gives the provision of polygamy so that the widows and orphans could continue to have the possibility of a family life after the passing of the husband/father.
But yes, you're right, the fact that Gwanhee was pathetic is true, maybe that's why you comparing him to Islam strikes a nerve.
As much as people hate on Gwan Hee - without him this season would be so stale. Although if there was a Guinness world record for indecisiveness they should give it to him.
This is definitely a series where initially watching it you will feel like you're on cloud nine with all the action-packed fight scenes, itching to know what happens next, but after you finish the series you're left a little confused like...what just happened? The ending certainly doesn't help in this case with all the cliff hangers pointing to different endings (?). During the show I enjoyed each and every episode, but like someone said you kind of turn your brain off and ignore all the plot holes, things that don't make sense because you're just anticipating the next action-packed scene. Objectively, this show while entertaining, can certainly disappointing considering the plot in the grand scheme of things: (love can make you so powerful that you can somehow single-handedly annihilate an entire army and not fear a 12 feet monster).
I also have a bit of a gripe with how little screen time Wi Ha joon.. (I don't understand what his role in this show really was? Yes he the one leading the independence group but at the end his role was for nothing, since our love-struck hero did everything.) Not only that, the entire damn series we got to see him for a total of like 20 minutes. Also, Kim Su Hyun as well, she really fit perfectly for her role and wish she got more on screen time. I will likely be watching season 2 though as overall I'd still give it a 8/10 in terms of enjoyability.
Lost interest in this show, first it should not have been 14 episodes. 10 would've been perfect. One episode a week seems like a chore. It's never a good sign when it starts to seem like an effort to even sit through one episode to keep up with the show. Sadly dropping this show.
