I know there are many problematic things about this series, both on and offscreen but Perth imo, is one of the most talented young actors in the Thai industry and I'll watch him in absolutely anything. I didn't care for TinCan due to a sense of awkwardness between them and Plan's acting so I'm mostly looking forward to Perth's individual scenes, Earth's appearance etc.
I'm going to need a loveline for this new season or at least some flirting since the writters literally killed…
You can literally watch any other K-drama for a romance, why do y'all want to shove romance in the little content that doesn't and shouldn't have romance?
This party ran out of snacks and the hosts are about to break up. Head over to My Engineer's page. Whole different…
I tried it but I didn't really like it. The acting is even worse in that. Thai BLs need to invest in better actors instead of cute faces. But I can't blame them because viewers would hype complete non-actors for their talent if they look good. Regardless, I'll try a couple more episodes because I like your observations here.
Okay,,, set aside Ep.11 and 12 and the negative reviews. I feel like of all GMMTV BL couples I have known(KristSingto,…
I don't think this is an indication of BrightWin being better, it's the evidence of GMMTV totally failing to create couples in love. Both KristSingto and TayNew were okay till they became an actual couple. However, the minute that happened, zero sparks. These people are incapable of writing couples in love and one half of the pairing always holds back so all of their established pairings have mediocre chemistry. BrightWin worked during the falling-in-love phase but they have nonexistent chemistry when they're supposed to be a couple. If things are this bad in season 1, I can't imagine how bad they'd be in season 2, when there won't be any fresh falling-phase to fall back on.
also yall still talking about the lacking of skinship still pisses me the f off. the fetishism of gay character…
I was just thinking that it was about time for a TharnType or WRU mention. TharnType and WRU are the biggest trigger words around here LMFAOOO. Can't argue? Just bring up either of them and call people gay fetishists without reading a single word of criticism.
It's not about the lack of skinship. IT'S. NOT. ABOUT. THE. LACK. OF. SKINSHIP.I'm so frustrated about this.
You're talking to a wall, some fans have decided to fixate on this particular point because they can't defend the terrible writing, character inconsistencies, using women as plot devices, turning the male lead into a passive, helpless stereotype, treating the love interest like a possession, terrible editing, random transitions, zero focus on supporting characters, awful conflict and so on. The chanting of how their love is "pure" gets more traction than countering the other minuses of the show. Their love being "pure" isn't the problem, the problem is that there is no love. They showed 2 seconds of domestic montage and went back to forced jealousy tropes to create conflict. The couple just looks unhappy together, Tine is constantly depressed and passive and Sarawat is disengaged. The conversation has moved on from the lack of skinship a long time ago, but some people can't seem to let it go. What good will useless skinship do when the characters are not themselves and the relationship itself makes little sense? There have been so many valid criticisms here but the fans can only see the skinship comments from last week.
They also conveniently change the narratives every week to gaslight others, last week it was that people criticize this series because people hate cuteness and fluff and that every BL doesn't need angst. This week the narrative is that noo, actually it's better than other BLs because it shows jealousy and that not everything is sunshine or rainbows. Now if this isn't the biggest sign of the inconsistency of the series lmao.
This site is getting ridiculous with the way some people have become toxic fans who think everything is great…
What I find surprising is people still claiming viewers dislike it because of the lack of skinship?!! Hello??!! It just goes on to show how limited their perspective is. They won't read any valid criticism because they can't counter it and fixate on something they can counter by puritanical callout. I was begging them to not include any skinship given how awkward their overall relationship has become. I guess, people asking for a couple to act like a couple means we're asking for makeout scenes to these weirdos. Intimacy is NOT kissing or sensual scenes, more than us, the fans of this series need to realize that. Intimacy is the casual togetherness between a couple which has been nonexistent between them since they became one. Even this, as you said, is the least of their problems. They can easily get away with a faux-romantic BL if the storyline, the editing, the pacing etc had a smooth flow. If the characterizations were interesting and consistent. If there were sensible conflicts in the storyline. But the fact of the matter is, it has none of that.
Is it Bright's acting? He just seems so over it constantly, I don't get it. It's as if he's on autopilot and waiting…
Exactly, exactly!! This is the description I was looking for. He just seems bored and aloof all the time, it worked when his character was falling in love but now that they're a couple, he is the exact same, bored and aloof. The directing and script are terrible, that's a given at this point smh, but his acting really doesn't help.
BTW, whoever said Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan from The Untamed seemed much more of a couple than these two made several points. I rewatched a couple of their scenes and there are sparks shooting off between them despite the layers of censorship, there's such affection and care... and these two, with the kissing and acknowledged romantic feelings have zero chemistry as a couple. Actually, zero is too generous right now, I'd say negative chemistry and negative attraction.
This show has become such a mess. It's literally a bad Lakorn at this point. I now wish they wouldn't put any skinship scenes in given how awkward their hugs were tonight. There's zero chemistry between them ever since they became a couple. Too frustrated to even talk about the boring plot and forced jealousy to spice things up. Zero character arcs or consistency between them, Sarawat suddenly can't tell Pam that Tine is his boyfriend. Also, this jealousy plot is so undedeveloped and random that Tine crying at the end made me laugh, I'm sorry. There is no romance, no sensation of first love, no detailing of their normal struggles as a couple, they rushed through every single thing just to deliver this second half. What a disappointment.
I have actually become more invested in this Man/Type storyline, if there's a season 2, I hope the series focuses on their dynamics more.
So being "true fan" means mindlessly cheering for everything that the show dishes out? No thanks, I'd prefer being a neutral viewer who hasn't lost the ability to analyze the content they consume. Also.. "extraordinary performances"... okay. Actors aren't owed any undying support, this isn't Kpop. It's very interesting that you believe people are criticizing this series because there isn't drama, too busy gatekeeping to actually read the criticisms I suppose? Not a single person has criticized the series for being cute, it's literally the best thing about it. People are disappointed by the contrived conflicts, lack of togetherness between the main couple, the flow of the story, zero attention paid to other characters and so on. Since it offered some cute scenes during a difficult time, it should only receive appreciation? Is this the argument? So you admit that the show isn't actually good enough to be this highly rated if it came at any other time? Gatekeeping and being needlessly condescending because some aren't praising the series 24x7 is such odd behavior. Criticism is the most important aspect of the viewing experience. Also, what's with the "unlike other BLs" commentary that the fans of this series seem to love chanting?
I don't think that's the source of people's complaint. It's just the lack of good chemistry. Nothing to do with…
It's interesting that you mention TharnType in this context because I've been thinking about the same thing. 2gether can be regarded as a foil to TharnType in more ways than one. The relationship between the lead pair in this is mostly healthy and relaxing to watch, while the lead dynamics in TharnType gave me a headache. However, 2gether falters in the exact areas where TharnType seems to excel, namely the natural ease and chemistry between the leads.
I agree. This show is frustrating me. It started with a bang and its gonna end with a fizz.Instead of taking advantage…
GMM doesn't care about the issues of LGBT people lmao, they're just in for a profit. Cast two cute boys and offer some cute scenes. That's their blueprint. I don't think it's a waste of talent necessarily, because I don't find either of them to be exceptionally talented but it is certainly a waste of the initial spark they showed. Anyway, I hope they do better in the final two episodes as well.
Exactly my sentiments. This show is over rated. Early episodes was good. I thought they had chemistry and spark.…
Yeah I agree. When a series is this highly rated, it's natural that people will have certain expectations from it. I am not saying it's the worst BL ever or anything but it's not particularly good either. It's just okay. As you said, it started off well but it couldn't maintain the momentum. This show anyway depended on contrived cliches to further the storyline but it's gotten worse and worse. Many sins of this show, such as the terrible script, bad editing, random transitions etc would've been forgiven if they at least offered a good love story, but they are failing to even do that. There is no natural ease between two people who are supposed to be a couple. You're right, if the lead actors didn't have visuals and people couldn't project their attraction towards Sarawat, this will be written off as an aggressively mediocre BL with nothing exciting to offer.
Watch this to realize a "bromance" could deliver a significantly better love story than whatever this was.
They also conveniently change the narratives every week to gaslight others, last week it was that people criticize this series because people hate cuteness and fluff and that every BL doesn't need angst.
