Why don't they ever do this type of story with an older female soul in a teenage girl's body? A woman in her 30s with fighting skills like judo, karate, boxing, hand-to-hand combat, etc.. She can even be a detective who goes undercover on a mission, somehow she gets into a tight situation and her cover is blown so an accident happens and she ends up in the teenage girl's body. I always like to see a real "badass" teenage fighter. Like in The Witch.
ML's look is so effeminate i might mistake him for FL lol
I agree. He had on too much makeup and his hair was too styled to be a sports guy. Even his teammates did not have all that going on. Lots of times he was more "made up" and styled than the female posing as a guy. I do not know who thought that was a good look in this drama.
Very true. Their " romance" and romantic scenes leave a lot to be desired. They are okay hugging but the face close, kissing is just plain awkward. The FL played it too shy. I think if the ML felt comfortable or the FL was more comfortable with romance scenes he would have went for it more. My opinion. She just seems the most awkward out of both of them. It takes two to tango, no matter if the director would have been like " tone it down". LOL
Things I liked:The plot, the direction. I liked that FL was a PLAIN girl, simply dressed, mature and NOT ANNOYING!…
Yeah , their kisses were weird and awkward, especially the close-ups. Their chemistry was " "pleasant" like a high school crush pleasant. Not an adult relationship chemistry at all. It did not matter if they never dated other people or whatever and he is 6 years older. He treated her and she acted like a very sheltered, porcelain doll. Which I guess she is. Anyway, I'm going to stop complaining and push through to the end.
This started out kind of interesting but... then dragged. Irritating...1) Why are there soo many long pauses before the FL and ML answer each other. I could count to ten, in some scenes, and they would still be " thinking". and it is a simple question/comment.2) The kisses were bad. It was either blocked by hair/shoulder or whatever. then there is the fish kiss. Bad all around, especially for a over 25 year old guy who seems like he has a lot of testosterone. I guess he wasn't getting too much reaction from the FL, which he wasn't , so he toned it way down. 3) Why was the FL always acting scared/shy to show PDA, even when they are by alone in a room and after over 1 year of dating? WHY? Why, why? 4) They are attractive together though. I fast forward a lot, as you can tell, and I am only on ep 16? I can't remember now. Whatever. I am committed to finishing this thing. Side note: The FL brother is handsome, sexy and has charisma.
I love Kang Joon and I'm very happy to finally see some news about him, but grown up actors playing high schoolers…
They should have made it college. At least if I squint, I can believe he is a college student. A high school student no. Maybe he plays a substitute teacher like in Taxi Driver. Did they say?
im up to ep 3 rn and im a little bored. when i saw that their interest in each other started at ep 1 i was absolutely…
You are right. All everyone around them can talk about is them, what they are doing, why etc.. Also what really burned my buns was when all of their friend or acquaintances was either peeping, eavesdropping or just questioning everything that they do or do not do. I have never seen such a bunch of nosy friends/acquaintances in my life. It got to the point where it was seriously creepy ad weird. one scenes was when the couple wa sin teh bedroom ( door closed) and their friends in teh otherroom was close to it and said thsi comment" what are they doing in there. It is too quiet". Or something to that effect. What the heck. Do they expect sex noise? I do not know what the writer wa sthinking.
Seriously I can't sing enough praises for this drama. A "siblings-like" relationship that changed to lovers later on in life. This is how it is done right. The FL is cute, and funny, and performed her role right. The ML also. The entire cast had great chemistry together though the second couple became boring and tiring after a while. The ML and FL correctly portrayed being close friends who grew up living in each other's houses and eventually fell in love. No awkwardness in their scenes or cringy kisses as they got used to the change in the relationship (the first 1-2 kisses from the FL were a little awkward but she quickly got better). I have rewatched this drama more times than I can count. This FL actress is a treat to watch. I have watched all of her school dramas. So natural.
I loved season1 and season 2 no doubt but the fl. She's not the problem, I just think that Mu-Deok s1 suited Jang…
I watched AOS 1 twice, I did not want to see AOS 2. I hear it is more romance and softness for the FL. I agree in that I think a sarcastic, snarky , calculating," keep you on your toes" and unpredictable FL ( as in Mudoek/Naksu) personality is the better fit for UK. He was cocky and arrogant before getting his strength and powers in S1. Now that he is basically a one man army, he needs someone that should not be the regular " damsel in distress" FL. That is why they should have focused on Naksu in S2 realizing that she received these strength/talents and skills that can be used for both good/evil. Depending on how you use it. And she would choose to use it (this time) for good. Oh well.
As long as he doesn't try to do comedy again. I think he should pursue other types of acting jobs, if he wants. In my opinion, he is not an actor that can be the " funny" person in a comedy. He can be the serious guy but NO to being the funny one. I just cringe when I see him " funny" in a drama. Also since he doesn't want to do all that physical work, in an action movie, there is such a thing as stand in doubles. Many actors have stand in for those parts.
I liked it a lot. The FL and ML did great. Sure it was a little slow when they were in high school but I loved how it showed the transition from annoying neighbors/friends to falling for each other. The ML acting was fine and he " sold" the intimate/skinship scenes. Much better than a lot of same-age/older actors. His skinship acting, I feel, encouraged the FL to up her game in the kissing scenes, since he was going for it. I REALLY appreciate it in dramas when FL/ML really act like college kids with all the " wanting to kiss" actions that humans have.
Yep, agree on some points. 1) FL was dressed too tomboyish most of the time. The only outfit I somewhat liked was the one she wore to dinner when she thought she was going to be proposed to. 2) She sat too boyish also. 3) Th 2FL was alright in high school but she gave the FL too much bad advice and I think she and that guy did not fit as a couple. She needed to mature more before she tried for a real relationship. She was the main problem in that relationship, in my opinion. 4) I loved the intimacy, kisses, and skinship of the ML and FL. Plus I liked how they eventually resolve their differences, in a timely manner. 5) I do not know why they did not have her use her Taekwondo skills, or show he tripping that senior or something. Sheesh. Anyway, I liked it overall.
I have to admit I was more fascinated by their intimate scenes than the whole story! The idea of a stone-faced…
This one I think the ML showed " signs' that he felt more and was attracted to the FL. He initiated a lot of the skinship in the beginning which the FL returned. In "When I Fly toward You" , the ML only returned the kiss/hug when the FL initiated it. The FL did all of the initiation. He did not do a lot of initiation of skinship and he was the poster child of a cold ML. I wanted more of a show that he likes the FL but he just subtly stared or had a small smile on his face when he looked at her. That was the only flaw in When I fly towards you. I liked " Exclusive Fairytale" much better as a result.
Everybody have different taste, but there's some people who became invested at eps 7/8. Maybe if u try until that…
Nah, sorry, I watched all episodes of Hidden Love. It was not my cup of tea. I LOVED and I mean LOVED "Exclusive Fairytales" I cannot tell you how many times I have watched that since it came out. Oh well. Different tastes.
I loved this drama. The ML and FL did their job right. I liked how they seemed very comfortable around each other as they realistically portrayed people who grew up together. The FL did it a little too convincingly sometimes with that and her tomboyishness. LOL, Plus she was very slow to realize her feelings for the ML, even with all the hints. Anyway, the slow realization of them falling in love, feeling each other out, and actually being in a relationship, I liked it. When they were in college was even better. It is GREAT that the director/writer realistically portrays the " liking/love" that college kids show. The hand-holding, hugging and even tastefully kissing/making out. Some of these dramas I've seen act like these college kids don't have these urges and don't even show entwined hands, hugs, or at least kisses on the cheeks. Rate 9/10. For me, this is MUCH BETTER than Hidden love.
Am I looking at this drama wrong? Sorry, this has been one of the most boring rom-com I have experienced in a long time. Usually, I am not bored with Zhao Lu Si dramas. Well most of them. I can tolerate some and like some. Even Gen Z, with minimal romance, was alright. But I started to fast forward starting at Ep 2. Was it just me? The ML and FL were handsome and very attractive respectively. Even the storyline did not fascinate me. Wow, I was so looking forward to this. Oh Well.
the worst thing about the season 2 was their explanation why Naku had a different body. They only didnt want everybody…
These are my thoughts. 1) They made up some crazy reason of why she has a different body BUT the same face of a known assassin. No one recognize her, even if she is calling herself Jin Buyeon? Sure it was the face of Muduk/Nkasu who went on the rampage in S1, Ep 20 BUT Park Jin and his close body guards should know what Naksu looks like since they have been chasing her over 1 year ago, in story time. If Soomin would have been free to come back, they could have made up some weird explanation, after 3 years, of yeah she was " possessed". She was not Naksu because she does not have the same face as the original Naksu. It would have been more believable. 2) I do not know why they had the S2 actress act in such a simple way. The MAIN reason fans wanted Naksu to come back or take center stage in the first place was because in S1, Ep 1 they showed her as such a fighter, badass and cunning woman. If Naksu was shown as being like she is in S2, starting form S1, fans would not be so ' " oh my Gosh, Naksu, Naksu, Naksu, she must coem back". It would be just any old fantasy rom-com. Viewers keep forgetting that little nugget and is blinded by the visuals and romance of S2. She had amnesia of everything she did as Naksu but her character/personality was already formed. Unless you have damage to the, brain, your personality does not change. The writers wrote the S2, FL actions wrong. 3) They should have just been up front and stated/shown, " Uk moved on and fell for another woman". It is normal after mourning for 3 years and him always liking female company. Or he could recognize Naksu/Mudok in Jin Buyon from S2, Ep 1. They could have shown him resisting acknowledging his suspicion since he was still hurt from Ep 20. They did not go that route.
I just don’t understand how the two main couple could be in love with each other. Firstly why would Tian Zhen…
In my opinion Tian Zhen will never get the " love and attention" from his father that he needs or should get. The father is very selfish, has outdated ideas and only think about his needs. If Tou Tou was not there, Tian Zhen would still not get it, so don't blame her. The father is only paying her any attention because he is obsessed of getting the " successor" so it still circles back to " his wants and needs". Tian zhen grew up and got better in the series but not the father. He needs to slowly not care what his father thinks of him and just the learn skills he needs. His father is not someone to emulate or get moral/life lessons from. Learn the medical/accupuncture skills from the father and some life morality lessons from Tou Tou. They make a good team. This drama was a failure because, yes VEY light on development of romance between Tian zhen and Tou Tou and too much of long lectures on accupuncture or whatever. I skipped 70% of the drama as a result. I thought Gen Z and the older gen would be teaching each other their viewpoints on life. I did not get that in the drama. I would give it a 6.5-7/10
