I think the writers seriously misunderstood the difference between sociopathy and psychopathy. Ah-Jinβs behavior…
Yeah , she is despicable , having a hard life doesnt excuse someone to make other's life miserable . You stated about most of them deserve it , but in those scenes i am taken out of realm that i am watching a drama and mind questioning that those scenes does not sit right and feels forced , that everyone and everything is conveniently placed as evil characters and even without her doing anything to them , they are the one giving her hard time first. so that gives her excuse to knock them over with her never fail pitch perfect plans , which seems absurd that i am constantly getting into the thought i am not watching drama but a force fed drama writers script. I know i am not explaining it with clarity, hope you get the gist. I need to go watch Backstreet Rookie once this is over to flush out all the toxicity i am building up on her from this drama..
she was born with sociopath traits i assume. her parents treating her badly would most certainly convert her into…
Yes, Good way of putting it , happy or sad depends on viewers backing her or not. or ending might also surprise us with ambiguous or left to interpretation kinda thing. 1 Day to go. I feel like this has the potential to be a 16 EP drama . These days majority are ending at 12.

If you first line was conveyed in the drama like she has sociopath traits since birth , then her actions would totally make sense and i can get behind that idea. I am sucker for happy endings, i wouldnt mind if she turns it around her character through making sacrifices at the end or went to prison and comes back and be with someone she loves. which would be wholesome for me.

Thanks Kate, this is the most civilized conversation i had in a long time in MDL's comment section . People often took sides and try to bash the person who offered a opinion that doesnt align with theirs , instead of actually discussing what works and what doesnt. you are an oasis in a dessert.
If a 6 year old girl could stand over her collapsed mom fighting for her life with blood soaking the feet of her…
Damn, I love the effort you are putting in coming up with such long explanations .
"she keeps thinking she is the true and only victim and she has a right to act the way she is, without excusing her behavior. I understand her choices without agreeing with them"
I stand with this point of yours and thats how we would have to view this drama.
The scene that shook me and made me horrified is that scene how she slowly climbed down stairs and stared blankly at her mom without showing any emotions , it felt so unnatural and sent chills down the spine. Not something i have ever scene. That scene sure did it purpose , left a scar in me.
P.S: Appreciate your well thought out responses , one could write a thesis and character study with that. Much Love, Wish you the best !!!

I am impressed how articulative you are and able to come up with such a long explanation in a short time. Thank you. But most of what you justify with feels speculation and not shown in a few scene of a flashback that she was incessantly abused and tortured throughout her life till her mom passes away. Her father's evil plot only revealed after she was taken to the new step mom's home , so that doesnt justify what she did to her mom. my point is based on what was shown to justify her character to asking us to understand her actions because she had it bad , is not enough for me to root for her. What i wanted to see is some redeemable traits in her so i can keep the hope that she would come around in the end. But thats not what i got. thats okay i can't decide what happens in a drama , Lets see how it pans out.

Thank you for sharing you view. I feel we will surely not going to arrive at concurrence on this . Mainly because the perspective i am bringing here is how we brought up and where we grew up actually shifts what counts as crossing the line . For me growing up from 90s generation and before , getting beaten up by parents in india is next to nothing , Getting a low scores in exams , going out without telling parents with friends, we get trashed for much sillier reasons as well. As a grown up my world view, beliefs and principles are lightyears away from my parents , but i still get thats how the entire society functions in their generation its so common even still it goes on in many house holds. So when i say she doesnt get sympathy from me, i have all the rights to say that as i have practically lived that life and i would still not have it in me to wish ill of my parents.
Besides at the young age like her , a kid would see their parents as her life line , even if they beat them i see many children will go hug their parents to pacify them and clung their hands. Even if we consider she gone through a lot of abuse since a baby and her heart turned stone, no child would behave like she did.
My main gripe is that this feels like a writers fault. To justify her actions they showing all evil people conveniently around her than i could accept that she had bad luck, Like the father stating about taking pictures and selling off somewhere , stepmom deciding to drown her, i as an audience unable to accept as a story narration instead its making me feel writers or forcing it down on my throat as all bad people and bad situations , now she can do bad stuff.
No , i have seen so many kids from toxic family grew up with good heart and have became a beaming light for others because they understood misery all too well they wouldnt wish it upon others.
Anyways, this year is a bad one for me, i would watch usually close to 60 to 70 dramas in a year, this year i hardly not even watched 10 kdrama. Hopefully i could finish this one.
If a 6 year old girl could stand over her collapsed mom fighting for her life with blood soaking the feet of her child, begging her to call for her and if she decides to coldly walk away from witnessing that , i am sorry , she is not gonna get sympathy from me. But it doesnt matter, i could have still enjoyed a gripping tale, In this case, it feels everything working for her favor as if the whole universe dances to her beat , feels so contrived . Even with so many things could go wrong easily from what she anticipates while framing people , the narrative is such a way its all success for her too easily . Even that Acting agent hunting her to get her to fame is so forced , doesnt sit organic at all. Given all that i would still watch it , because it doesnt bore me. I still see a ray of hope from two people , June Seo and the baseball x player , both made it so that there is still hope in this world and good hearts still beat for others .
I just completed episode 4, and hereβs my take,I really enjoy stories that challenge my moral compass and consciousness,…
i havent started this, based on your comment it is intriguing and reminds me of one other drama "Mask Girl", That was fresh and so bold almost felt like its not even a K-drama. You gotta check that one out.
It is a total disappointment , The leads previous outing together was such a fantastic drama, this one is cringe and cliche and worst of all no chemistry and non sensical story line.
Had it been as good as atleast the episode 11 it would have been salvageable.
U 100% hate comedy and maybe '' politics '' this drama isnt for you in that case and thats ok! hope u find what…
Your assessment about my watchlist comes with prejudice and biased preconceived notion that i wouldn't like certain type of genre , Among close to 300 dramas in completed list some of the highest rated are variety of genre including political, comedy and non romantic ones as well. This is a classic case of forming a opinion about someone and passing judgement and trying to find the data to fit your narrative. Talk about childish . I dont have energy in me to keep coming up with bitter responses to you. Lets just recognize that people with opposing views and taste about subjective experiences exist in this world and move on would be best for both of our inner peace.

Its because of people like you, a random stranger from the internet think they know more about the person's personality better than that person themselves just because they read few lines,
I Like to see their brain twitch when they couldnt take the same pills they are trying to forcing down the throat of others. Lets see how you like it if i say this, "You are a cynical cuckoo who couldnt take it if other's didnt like the stuff you like " Dont be serious just take it , because i said so. ππ

Easily skippable drama. 6/10.
