8.5/10 for me; could have rated it higher if Jung Gil had more exposure, instead of having screentime only on the last few minutes of every episode. lol.
Now kidding aside, this may be the first KDrama in a long while that I genuinely enjoyed and didn't make me feel like dropping it or that I didn't skip a lot just to get it over with. There was no character who's too arrogant or too dumb that it annoyed the hell out of me and ruined the show for me, thank god (though in the beginning, Ryeon or Jung Gil had the potential to be that nuisance haha) While I did cry at some point, the drama wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be. Maybe because Joon Woong was spontaneously funny that he became the perfect comic relief, which I personally found nice.
As for the ending, I thought I was going to be underwhelmed because it felt like the last episode went fast. The closure could have been better specially for Ryeon and Jung Gil. Was I really disappointed though? Well, I guess when I saw the last scene, I just thought, 'fuck making sense out of everything'. I was just happy to see them all happy. Or more like, all it took was to see Jung Gil talking to them good-naturedly for me to forget getting disappointed. It was nice seeing him loosen up in the end even if it just for a few seconds.
Overall, I'm satisfied. It really has been a while. I'm glad I gave this one a try.
I watched merely out of curiosity because a lot of people say it may be the best drama of the year. Ngl, I thought they were just exaggerating but now that I finished it, I understand that the claim isn't unfounded. It is indeed a masterpiece. From the synopsis, you'd think there's a big chance for it to be boring because it's just going to be repetitive. It's not. I love how the show threw me straight into the story from the first episode, then maintain a good pace, enough to keep me engaged through the entire show. I was at edge most of the times while watching this; the last few cycles were specially thrilling that I had to bite my hand haha. The leads were cute together, acting were great. I just wish we get to know more of their back story, main and support characters alike, specially Xiao He Yun and his conflict in his game company. Understandable though and it doesn't take away the fact that this is a great drama and I sure did enjoy it a lot.
Saw him in Reset and I thought I've seen his smile before and it turned out he also appeared in Under The Skin (which I'd watched first). Charming boy he is, hope to see him in a main role sooner than later.
Wow, it's one great movie. Kind of painful to watch at some parts but overall heartwarming. Made me feel like I'm able to breathe easier after watching it. Definitely going to my rewatch list when I need something to watch for comfort.
hmm want to watch this to see whats all the hype about but there are like too many episodes for me....like damn…
Have you tried watching it yet? If not, I just wanna say I had the same thought as you a few years ago. Didn't watch it immediately coz I thought I had no enough patience to sit through 50 episodes. lol. But when I finally decided to watch, I suddenly didn't want it to end and 50 episodes felt too short. Just give it a shot. You can just drop it anytime if it's not for you anyway. 😉
Every time I look at this page and see the rating (currently 8.3 - previously 8.4) I’m like “HOW??” Like,…
Not a big fan of KDramas in general, including KBLs, but I gotta admit even I was surprised to see the rating for this one. I was expecting it to be higher as it's also the KBL (maybe the KDrama) that I enjoyed the most. Then again, compared to the ratings of all the other BLs, it's already pretty decent. I just realized it's actually rare for a BL to go above this rating. 😔
It's not bad to watch the ending, even you may cry there is alternative ending to heal you 😌 (although, it's…
Hahahahaha, I love the aggressiveness of the last part. 🤣 Yeah, I may try to watch it again once I got enough time. And courage. 😅 For now, I just don't know how to pick it up again after leaving it on hold for a long long time; felt like I lost the momentum. lol
So I put it on hold at ep4 last year because I was planning to binge watch when all episodes were aired. But in the end, I read some of the comments about the ending and I got scared, lol. If I have to pick it up again, at what point on the last episode am I supposed to stop so I won't have to see the cursed ending?
May i ask a question to you? Do you have any drama recommandation for me who desperately miss Qihun?
Eh... I remember watching (or at least I tried to watch) a lot of dramas after Hikaru No Go but Cross Fire is the only thing that comes to mind now. I'd still take HNG over it anytime of course, but CF was also enjoyable. A lot of people were talking about Ultimate Note and Ping Pong Life during those times too, but I just pretty much gave up on watching them. It was just me being impatient, I guess. You may wanna check them out though; maybe they're right up your alley.
I haven't watched any drama in a long time, to be honest. I was supposed to rewatch HNG the other day but I saw "Under the Skin" under recommendation on iQiyi so I checked that out instead. I'm glad I did. It was a satisfying watch, a treat to anyone who's into Crime/Mystery drama like I do.
Dang, it's been a long while since the last time I watched any drama and I am so happy this is the one I picked first after coming back. Maybe I just got curious with its high rating on iqiyi but I gotta say it's justified. Also, crime and mystery are my cup of tea so that's one factor I got hooked on this drama. That was a great and satisfying watch. Shen Yi is so cute, love his smiles.
