Watching Still Shining has been such a beautiful experience so far. The story feels incredibly relatable — raw, simple, and quietly powerful. It doesn’t rush to force drama or big moments; instead it allows the characters and their lives to unfold naturally. In that simplicity, it gives such an honest look at how people change, evolve, and grow over time. What truly captured my attention, though, is the performance of Park Jinyoung. I’ve followed him for quite some time, but I can honestly say this is his best work yet. His acting feels so natural and effortless that at times it almost feels like you’re watching a real person rather than a character on screen. There’s something really special about seeing an actor grow into their craft, and in this drama Jinyoung is truly shining. His performance feels mature, grounded, and completely on point. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the rest of the story unfolds.
After two episodes of Siren’s Kiss, I’m 72% convinced Baek Jun Beom is behind everything. His reappearance feels far too intentional. The way he asked if she remembered him wasn’t casual — it felt loaded. And her reaction to The Orphan of Syria? That wasn’t surprise. That was fear. My guess is that he’s the ex-fiancé presumed dead in Syria, thus this mean that this isn’t coincidence — it’s a return. And possibly a calculated one. They broke up before he left. What if he never let that go? What if this isn’t about love… but revenge — slowly dismantling her world by targeting those around her? It might be misdirection. But right now? He’s my prime suspect.
This drama is ON FIRE! The chemistry is explosive, the cuteness is off the charts, the comedy hits every time, an absolute chef’s kiss. Every episode has the perfect balance—it’s honestly addictive. We’re only at episode 6 out of 14… and I’m already panicking. WHY so short?! 😭 I need more of this in my life! JKY is absolutely shining, and AEJ is her usual flawless, magnetic self. And the second couple? Too cute for words—I adore her honesty, her energy, her whole vibe.
If the show keeps up this momentum, it might just become my favourite of the year!
A solid start! The first two episodes effectively introduce the characters and their dynamics. Kang Tae-poong already stands out —easygoing yet loyal, warm, hardworking, and surprisingly sharp. He learns fast, takes responsibility, isn’t afraid to ask for help, and genuinely cares about others. With traits like these, he feels like a natural leader and a future CEO people can truly trust.
I’m also curious about the romance. Since both leads seem uninterested in relationships, I’m hoping for a slow-burn story that grows naturally as they develop emotionally. Overall, a promising beginning with potential for strong character growth and heartfelt storytelling
At first, I was a bit skeptical about how they would handle Mun Ju’s romance arc, especially since her husband seemed so devoted. But the mistress reveal really changed everything — it was the emotional turning point. And okay, maybe it’s just me, but I can’t shake the feeling that the mistress is Ms. Young and actually be the spy (obviously using her korean name currently) are just too many coincidences lining up for it to be nothing, and I love theorizing about it!
Still, Mun Ju’s reaction felt a little fast — she had just uncovered the truth and then seemed to move on so quickly. Thankfully, the episode gave us an insight into what her marriage was really like, which made her shift in feelings feel more grounded. The loss of their baby which eventually which I suppose led to their intimate relationship turn cold.
But oh, the tension between Mun Ju and San Ho! The way they looked at each other — those lingering glances, the loaded silences — you could feel every unspoken word. And when the kiss finally happened? It was like every ounce of pent-up tension exploded at once. Pure perfection
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is such a treat! At first, I was curious when the original male lead dropped out, but now I honestly think we couldn’t have asked for a better actor. Lee Chae-min IS the character—his expressions, tone, and presence light up the screen in every single scene. He makes the role unforgettable, like it was written just for him. The drama pulls you in with its charm, humor, and heart, and the cast chemistry is amazing. If you’re still deciding whether to watch—don’t hesitate. This drama is a gem, and Lee Chae-min makes it shine even brighter!
I think one of the meta-messages of this drama is our ideas of beauty and how "good image" gives us a…
Yeah I totally get what you’re saying! I agree that losing beauty or that “good image” really does affect how society treats you. But I also feel like sometimes we kind of sabotage ourselves too… when life gets tough, it’s so easy to let go of even the small things like taking care of ourselves. And then it turns into this vicious cycle — the more we stop caring, the more our self-esteem drops, and then we feel even worse and lose more of our place. This drama shows that in such a raw way, which makes it both hard to watch but also so real. At least that is the impression of the first 2 episodes. Maybe i got it all wrong 😅
An unexpected, quirky, and funny rom-com with just the right sprinkle of drama and mystery. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable—both in their younger days and as their older selves—which makes the story all the more engaging.
That said, I can’t help but be irritated by the fallen star’s current look: the awkward hairdo, red cheeks, and freckles feel a bit overdone. Hopefully, as the story unfolds, we’ll also get to witness her transformation back to her former glory.
What excites me most, though, is watching how their romance will rekindle as adults. Who will fall first, and who will fall harder? That’s the hook that keeps me eagerly waiting for the next episode.
Our Unwritten Seoul is more than just a drama — it’s an experience that touched places in my heart I had forgotten even existed. It’s a truly healing drama. The gentle, thoughtful conversations and the unique way it approached life’s ordinary yet complex situations made me pause and reflect on what truly matters. I fell in love with every character and their dynamics. Watching them grow, evolve, step out of their comfort zones, and face life’s uncertainties with courage was both inspiring and comforting. It’s a rare kind of storytelling that feels like a warm embrace, reminding you that it’s okay to struggle, to stumble, and to start again. It’s a pity that it had to end, but the journey was absolutely worth it. I will carry the lessons, emotions, and quiet strength of this drama with me for a long time.
My crazy theory now goes like this... Somi is in a coma like and she is having a near death experience... she got in an accident many years ago and is a coma because of that accident so she remember only herself with that look and not older and she has lost her memories because of that accident... and the crazy part.. she is the mother of the pastor.. even the dogs smelled the same scent when near the church..

I do agree with you as I have been thought so as well... but I have come across in dramas that they use the trope of memory loss too...that's why it bothers me that Somi has a memory loss

Ok I couldn't help myself and went to rewatch the ending of the first episode.. Netflix translation.. she said I am screwed and the purple petal is falling at that time🤭

The only thing that still bothers me is that Somi has no recollection and memories... and from my experience in Kdrama usually this is associated when someone takes his own life.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think she cursed as soon as she saw him in his younger self... like she said.. i am doomed.. but in a more 🤬 way .. the translation i am not sure if it was a bit mellow but the korean version it was a bit more explicit ... so she broke the rule of cursing
I like the idea of the caregiver... an interesting theory since yes she has spent a lot of time with him ... so obviously she has as special attachment with him, so yes, it could be her too

Lee Jung Eun is listed as a main cast so I do agree that when Lee Youg Ae dies LJE will play her role. Unless they will keep going between the land of the living and heaven. However from episode 2 it seems like she got in an accident and probably badly injured or she died.
About Somi I thought it was the cat, but since episode 2 turned that way I don't know now. Just questioning why she did not turn in a cat once she got reunited with her owner like the other pets did before. And why she keeps on disappearing?
The purple petals I think they are associated with breaking the rules. Once you reach the maximum quota...they are sent to hell.
