Fam, you the bomb. It just feels like, it is what it is…any expectations I had died 10 episodes ago.
Some positives: Mai is a great actor. Hope to see more of her. There were a lot of hot, manly dudes in this drama that I rarely see in chinese dramas. Older, manlier dudes than your typical young and skinny legends: Dylan Wang, Leo Wu and bai jing ting (although, bai jing ting is 100x better actor than Leo/Dylan). The crazy emperor was good, believable. Very good acting. All the palace people were good.
Fcuk the stupid side stories forever: pick me hoe, empress lin and her dad and bro. They could have used this time to develop the SML storyline lol. It would have made more sense.
After calming down, I’d still give this drama an 8/10 SIMPLY bc some of the ratings on mydramalist are terrible and inflated. There are soooooo many trash shows with bad acting getting 8.0, 8.5, and 8.7 out of 10 ratings. This drama, as rocky as it was had an ending that tied the storyline up.
Moon River was a snooze fest compared this this one.
