Wow very interesting about differences with the book. That’s why I can only watch dramas where I haven’t read the novel. Movie and tv show rarely live up to the novel.

How can people not like this drama? I’m soooo happy I didn’t read the book. I love that the leads aren’t the same people we always see. - I don’t like the current crop of popular celeb actors. Theyre not cute (zhao lusi and galaxy ML etc) and many cannot act.

I like that the male lead is dorky. He’s actually pretty smart And it balances out the dorkiness.

I love all the good acting from the emperor, prime minister lin, foster mom, FL, dead crown prince. AND all the hot dudes - lt tang, ML, dead crown prince, general QI/the dude that stabbed Mai’s dad, SML they everyone here keeps crying about due to lack of screen time.

I’m so glad I never read the book bc this drama is good. It’s kept my attention and I haven’t skipped any episodes lol. I like that the actors aren’t super popular mainstream celebs.

The current emperor is a crazy good actor. His stroke wow.

I also could not get into this drama but I’m very much liking fighting for love that's airing right now and has the FL disguised as a man. Are you watching fighting for love? Curious to see how it compares to this popular drama.
