I really enjoyed watching the drama- I love the historical romance genre! But there's something missing and I'm not sure what. The actors were great and I liked the different style of this couple where maybe they were written realistic to the times ("mature" to modern viewers, what they like to do, how they act). The male lead and female lead were not meant to be the youthful mischievous type, which is fine! Especially for the female lead. It can get annoying when the male lead-especially in the historical dramas is meant to be the mature old man who guides her (-__-).
Jason was playing a modern guy- it would've been cool (season 2?) to see his old-world tendencies slip out the more we got to see him in the show if there were more episodes.
Thank you for answering my question. Hmm.. so does that mean if the target market isn't teens, a romance storyline might not end in marriage (for 20yrs old characters)?
Question- I've noticed a running theme/plotline in romance Jdramas- why is it that the characters usually end up marrying young- in their 20s? Is it because the writers know the young girls/young women audience loves it or is it because of the culture about when women should get married/present it as an ideal to encourage it? Thanks - Also I liked this drama. Wish there were more episodes.
I can see that this drama is produced to be very feel-good. Life-affirming and positive messages are inserted…
I agree! If there were more episodes scheduled, they could've really sold the feel-good vibes with more storytelling and intimacy (not sex necessarily) between the actors. The emotions were expressed pretty shallowly.
