Nijiiro Karute [currently airing]Neechan No KoibitoNagi's Long VacationOsozaki no HimawariWill recommend more…
I am interested in watching Nagi's Long Vacation (#2) and Osozaki no Himawari (#1). Do you have any other recommendations? This time, ones with not too much drama or any, and the main lead is odd/eccentric/different in some capacity or one of the secondary characters?
Examples of ones I have watched- THIS ONE + Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store + Pegasus Market.
The storyline was unique and as a person who has never met anyone with Savant syndrome, I felt the main actor’s acting was amazing (+ the graphics of what he sees). But it did get hard to watch as we found out about Larry operating as his handler and having custody of him- and ATARU being treated as a tool. The whole Savant syndrome people program freaked me out tbh. The ending kind of seemed disappointing- ATARU going with Larry.
Picture this y'all- The main character who is a "bad" (not really) guy who through his actions to cause chaos, does good deeds unintentionally - who slowly transforms to become the good guy they can be. Life lessons are subtly involved in the plot, but overall this is a Laugh Out Loud Comedy. :) Interesting plotline.
Only thing I did not like about the show- The comment made about the little girl from the store manager. The other characters pointed out its wrongness through their body language while also simultaneously overlooking it and viewing it as harmless. Unacceptable. There are moments like this (inappropriate comments about women/cis-female body) in American shows but I have noticed in Japanese dramas, they really like to play up the "pervert" male character (young or old) and ultimately frame it as odd or creepy but harmless. The victims of their behavior or actions are either disturbed and tell them/show them it is wrong or they seem to not mind it at all. Both are not usually satisfactory considering the other characters, the ones who interact with this man, don't ask and expect them to change their behavior. Which also besides framing it as harmless, puts their behavior as what men do (connected to their sexuality, lust).
Question- Someone who is knowledgeable about Japanese Society, Social Issues, or J-Dramas. Please provide some feedback. (Some American shows are bad at this as well)
Super unique plot. Interesting main female character- one who errs morally but in a gray area, only to people who break the law- ambitious, side romance. A lovely wardrobe of the female lead.
So sweet! The movie was great, though the ending was a little strange (not in a bad way). I wished it became a drama, so we could see their dating and married life (w/kids even).
Can anyone provide background on how truthful the portrayal of the Korean police- female employees' discrimination- and the situation of spycam crimes in South Korea?
Funny movie but also strikes the heart of women viewers due to the case. WOMEN POWER
Loved how in the drama/manga/anime, the main character and the love interest both like each other from the beginning- and it is set as destined- plus how BOTH of them have a dark past and involvement in the supernatural. Super unique in my opinion.
Super fun show- didn't take itself too seriously and actually played up the dramatics. The romance was not the best aspect of the show, but the main lead's family instead. The show was actually really funny. Ended up continuing to watch because of Hana's parents- they are so wacky and fun! I loved how affectionate they were- they remind me of Morticia and Gomez Addams. Anyone continue to watch for the parents?
WOW- this genre is usually not my thing. What's different about this one- not a lot of gore, not a lot of psychotic-ness, and the main lady truly does love the male lead.
WOW WOW WOW. This was amazing. It was wacky but they managed to execute the show perfectly. The development of…
While I personally wanted to see an ending where she was with Yuzu (anyone else? ) and still friends with the youkai, at least the alternate reality helped kinda. Why couldn't she have spent more time with him in the end to see if they were compatible AND the alternate reality?
