I have to say, I am quite disappointed. After a slow and weak first four episodes, Ep. 5 was a breath of fresh air that showed that this show had some great story telling in it's future... Then enter EP. 6. Whatever goodwill the show had created in Ep. 5 was destroyed in Ep. 6. All the problems that spawned in the first four episode reared it's ugly head, and brought relatives to boot. The poor pacing was there once again to be joined shortly and by poor comedic timing to take away any sense of suspense and danger it was trying to create.
The illogical situations and actions by literally every single character in the show came back and made a poor storytelling effort even worse as you get frustrated by the out of the blue bravado and out of character behavior of many of the characters.
The writer was already guilt of assassinating the character of Jang Hanna, but in Ep. 6 she took it one step further and hamstrung the remaining female characters in the show. I get it, we need to make everyone else look poor in comparison to make our FL shine, but this is not the way to do it. Ms. Pi who showed such interesting characterization in the first few episodes, was relegated to a scornful face whenever the camera panned on her.
Boon Ok, in my opinion still remains one of the more compelling characters in the show. In fact her story, her intention, and her survival remains the one sole thing keeping me chugging along with this drama.
Just like in Ep. 3 or 4, Lee Gwang Tae's false bravado was wasted literally 10 minutes later in that episode, similar plot lines that have been built up, were dealt with in literal seconds as useless plot devices that serve as nothing more than filler to avoid the awkward silence. The weapon that Young Ro had sneaked to Kang Moo is wasted so pathetically, in what can only be considered a "Sexy" dance between him and NK Spy #1. And laughably enough, the only reason Kang Moo survives the encounter was because NK's is a broke country that has a budget on the number of bullets that can be used.
At this point I don't know if these are the worst hostages ever, or the worst hostage takers ever. Both the victims and the aggressor seem not to know what they want to do. And because the element of danger and fear misses the mark for me, I couldn't help but laugh aloud at the panicked acting of most of the cast, including Young Ro. Literally no one has been hurt, except for Gwang Tae's pride for peeing himself.
In this episode, I see some FLASHES Of acting from both Jung Hae In and Young Ro, as if they suddenly remember the situation they are in, but literally seconds later, those flashes disappear. Jung Hae In at least has chosen a persona to stick to, albeit inconsistently in Ep. 6. I can't seem to take anyone in the drama seriously as they flounder on what the next step is. As a viewer, we can't seem to figure out where the plot is going, but not because it is smartly written, but because it's completely and utterly illogical.
Ep. 6 finally decides to use the talents of Yoon In Na, and it will be interesting to see what route her characterization takes. I still believe she is either Taedong River 1, or she is a SK that was convinced to defect by Soo Ho. I am also hoping for the sake of the plot that Ms. Pi turns out to be a villain all along. There was certainly more evidence of this in Ep. 6, and I hope the writer nim is gutsy enough to go there.
All in all, Ep. 6 felt like not a very strong episodes, filled with too many useless and dragged out scenes, very little substance. I wonder if this is because the Drama decided to bring back the non-existent romance that ruined any possibility of a coherent plotline.
What is suppose to be fear ended up being a smile
#womanspyproblems :(
This girl likes danger!
It's a bit forced.
Istg he better be a good kisser!
It's a guess.
The lack of danger in the situation and everyone's panicked reaction has a huge disconnect. Even I don't feel the suspense at all.

I think as of Ep. 6 everyone and their mom knows the real reason Kang Moo broke up with Hanna.
