Did u read Ji Chang Wook interview recently? Did u watch any films from this director ? And do u know it will…
I don’t think that’s fair assumption on jcw tbh. maybe he wants to challenge himself and do something he’s nvr done before. same for nana. this is also a drama remake of a very successful rated 19 movie where the main cast were all successful actors and 2/3 of them did do nudity. and why remake a rated 19 movie if you’re going to remove what made it rated 19. no one wants to see a watered down version when we can just watch the original movie. now I respect whatever decision the actors chose for their roles. no actor should be forced into doing nudity. but there’s a reason why some fans have certain expectations. that said.. I do think theres a low chance of jcw and nana doing nudity but if they do end up doing it, I also won’t be surprised.
So apparently filming has wrapped up in Japan.. unless they’re going to film in Korea too.. is the drama only going to be like 20 minutes an episode lmao. idk how drama production works in Japan but it only took 2 1/2 months to shoot an entire drama? Fromt what I’ve seen most Nippon TV dramas are 10 episodes and 40-50 minutes long.. maybe Japan is jsut really efficient at filming bc kdramas take like 8 months lol.
this is why when jcw mentioned him being pushed to his limits by the director I was kinda like ???. because I…
I’m def excited to see him pushed beyond his comfort zone. We already got a glispe of that in Queen Woo. But it also got me thinking.. Since many A list actors tend to avoid provocative scenes/nudity, I’m curious if JCW is actually going to go all out for Scandals. just based on his interview, the Korean movie, and the director’s past works it seems to be going in that direction. but they could also play it safe and tone it down due to the cast. it could go either way lol.
this is why when jcw mentioned him being pushed to his limits by the director I was kinda like ???. because I…
I’m sure they discussed it with him when he was offered the role and it was written in the contract that the character requires sensual scenes. So I think instead of being pushed to do anything.. he 100% knows what he signed up for.
I have mixed feelings, as some project of "Dangerous Liaisons" are about highlight dialogue. "Untold…
this is why when jcw mentioned him being pushed to his limits by the director I was kinda like ???. because I also watched the movie and it honestly wasn’t anything too crazy or intense. nothing really happens until the last 20 mins. so I think they might have adjusted the script or something to make it more dramatic.
The first 6 episodes were amazing. The second half wasn’t as good and tension kinda fell after the death race plot. However I enjoyed it and found the drama entertaining and engaging throughout. still upset tho that Taejoong didn’t get to kill at least one person. I hate when the no kill rule is given to a protagonist to keep them good and pure like it’s so lame and boring. I wanted Taejoong to snap and start murdering people in the finale episode like Wonbin did in the movie “The Man from nowhere” 😂.
Yeah i understand your frustration..even I'll forget this drama existed and move on if it's bad..from the premise…
no use of getting top stars if the writing and directing is shit 😭. I’m even more upset because I just found out that there’s going to be another Korean Japanese romance drama about kpop directed by suspicious partner/business proposal PD, written by marry my husband writer, and by the production company that produced Moving and Lightshop.. this is the production team MBL should’ve had! it’s like Disney and cjem didn’t even try 😔
ok I’m annoyed.. they couldn’t get a better writer and director for merry berry love? Jcw is a hugely popular and successful actor..also imada mio just finished up a successful drama herself and she’s basically an it girl in Japan and all they could recruit was *check notes* a director who has only done unknown teen youth dramas and one semi popular teen BL series.. and the writer who wrote divorce insurance which apparently wasn’t very good. all their other dramas are either flops or unpopular. I’m praying jcw actually saw something good in this script/story because if this was a kdrama I would not want him near it at all. it’s way below his caliber. hell it’s below imada mio’s too!! but I’m trusting him because why would he do this with his already busy schedule and career high. and why would imada mio do this when she’s also at the peak of her career right now..this whole thing is giving web drama on viki instead of Disney plus’ first Japanese/korean co produced drama with two big names. anyways if this ends up sucking I’ll just forget this drama exists just like his one cdrama lol. and if it ends up being decent or even good I’ll eat crow again.
anyone else really worried about ep 5-6? I think it could make or break the hype and momentum of the drama. already seeing a lot of negative comments regarding the squid game plot.
Japanese tabloids/news sites keep mentioning imada mio starring in a Korean drama with jcw but not one Korean article LOL. this supposed drama has no inkling of it actually existing.. no production leaks.. no actual casting news from korea.. He’s going to be in the middle of filming human x gumiho next year and they’re still going to be regurgitating this rumor.
Just my opinion: i think it comes down to how good the director and script is...if those are average, no one will…
the #1 complaint I’ve seen from kfans seems to be about the Japanese actress being a right winger. so the script and director could be amazing but it doesn’t matter to them. honestly id be lying if i said i wasn’t a little concerned.. we all know how sensitive Koreans are about their history with Japan. i can already see kfans and knetz creating a ruckus and a witch-hunt if this gets confirmed.
the reaction from his kfans are blowing me. it’s not even official just a rumor and they’re already crashing out. anyway for those who are curious why his kfans are upset 1. they don’t think Korean Japanese co production dramas are any good and there’s no demand for it. 2. This type of script is usually for upcoming/rising actors and it’s beneath jcw’s pay grade. 3. The actress is apparently a right winger and jcw working with her could hurt his image and reputation, cause a political controversy/scandal etc 4. They feel like jcw is focusing way too much on Japan and Japanese fans recently . 5. They think Japan is using Korean dramas and kactors to boost up their own actors. basically using the hallyu wave for their own benefit.
some people are concerned they might tone down the drama and make it less explicit .. I’m concerned about the amount of nudity we might getting just seeing who the director is and his past works.. a movie director who is known for his explicit sex scenes.. who rarely uses body doubles and loves showing frontal nudity. but at the same time I doubt any of the senior actors like syj and jcw are gonna show anything. but praying for all the lesser known actors participating 😶
I get that the writer and directer wanted this story to be fast paced but I think they went a little overboard. New characters be popping up without proper introductions. It keeps jumping from one scene to another. Characters are teleporting everywhere. It’s a constant go go go. I kid you not, I be so confused half the time. Blink once and a character is in a totally different location and we’re already on to the next scene. The short run time and editing makes the fast pacing feel worse. It’s sometimes overwhelming.. not in a good way because too many things are happening in 45 minutes like can we slow down! There’s also gaps the viewers have to fill in ourselves bc nothing is explained or shown to us.
Jaehee and Gilho being the only two characters that I care about. The only two characters that are compelling together and apart.. now one is d*** and the other has little screen time despite being a main character. Gilho moving like he’s a support instead. Like someone mentioned.. all this screen time for these evil men instead of one of your main characters like why?
And I truly don’t care about yeseo. She’s overstaying her welcome.. now she’s replacing jaehee as the girl we got to save? When her predicament and character itself is not as interesting and frankly annoying lol. Dongwoo is the protagonist but what’s his character arc? He’s just reacting to everything happening around him and now looking for his daughter.. and the prosecutor lord help me that whole plot with her is boring as hell. She’s in a completely different drama from the rest of the gang lol.
Despite my complaints I’m still going to finish it for Gilho. I’m also curious to see how the hell they’re going to wrap everything up next week. Fingers crossed it ends with a bang.
Why is everyone blaming Disney for the deleted scene? Isn’t it the director who decides which scenes stay or…
It is the directors decision to edit out a scene but I blame Disney (and sanai pictures) because they’re the ones in charge of all the promotional material. Nobody forced them to release still cuts, 3 teasers, a highlight video, thumbnails, hell even the bts/making video that includes that scene. Don’t mislead your viewers by using a deleted scene to promote your show. It’s deceiving your audience. And the same exact thing happened with twoe. once is whatever but to happen twice to a Ji Chang Wook drama under Disney is starting to become a pattern.
