Shangguan Quan always has watery eyes when she talks to Gong ShanJue , I don't know why I feel she likes him maybe…
Shangguan Qian seems like the ultimate people-pleaser to me. That's why she has these glossy eyes as she moons over Shangjue, and to an extent, even around her trainer. I genuinely feel like she is intimidated by Shangjue because her weasel-techniques don't work on him, whereas she only feigns to be frightened by the annoying brother as if she were an innocent maiden. Well, as for Shangjue... he's more... principled? Patient? Highly suspicious of outsiders? Very strict too. So he suspects her because Anonymous is still on the loose. And thus, he doesnt give her an inch. He's always keeping her on her toes with the sinister and veiled warnings. But I think she digs that, because like I said, she's a people-pleaser. And Shangjue is a cold, heartless bastard, but even he eventually yields a little in the face of a pretty woman. But then again, it all might be a part of some 4D chess he's playing to trap her? 🤣
I would have liked ML to hit him back or at least showed some form of protest or defiance, but he just stayed…
I think the reason why Ziyu does not fight back after the slap, is because he hasn't reconciled with the fact that he's the SW now, and thus of a higher status/ rank than Shang Jue. Till now, ShangJue was very much the older brother/ older cousin (I think SJ and Huanyu are contemporaries, whereas Yuanzhi and Ziyu are similar aged). Also, Shang Jue is the 'leader' of his cadet branch, whereas Ziyu was just 'a spare to the heir', kind of seen as useless by everybody else. I can understand this power dynamic. And besides, SJ was right in disciplining the two younger men, though his bias comes across, because he definitely reveled in that slap, for sure. Both brothers are kind of petty that way, even though SJ is written as 'more principled' of the two!
I think it has to do with the poison arrow SQG was playing with right before
No, i think she was flashing her wax-coated fingertips as a sign that she had successfully extracted some poison as per the technique taught to them by Wufeng?!
Fr. & that 90s vibes is missing. & the filter they used were way too bright & dreamy which is not suitable for…
100% agreed with the first part! I have attended high school in Asia, and safe to say, a LONG time back. I know how schools used to look back then, and the 'ugly old school' vibes of the original was a big part of its nostalgic charm! Kdramas forget, not everyrhing is meant to be ~aesthetic~. It looks misplaced and anachronistic. Same with the bubblegum-pink color grading. Sometimes you think, what were the editors even thinking???? The song... well, i have an inkling this New Jeans track (cover) is meant to be the opening song/title track, and thus will be replacing Shi Shi's song from the original. If you think about it, they both have very sweetish, feminine vocals... so maybe that was the big idea. As for the song that plays on the casette-player and takes her back... it's most likely going to be Gather my tears by Seo Ji Won, and the (re)makers probably not in a hurry to reveal that yet, but have left us visual clues, instead! :) but i agree with you... it feels modern, and isn't atmospheric enough, even if it's meant to be a modern song's replacement! 🙈
I'm with Peach on this... Feng is the mastermind of Wufeng 😁
Edit: zishang's companion is Hua as per MDL cast list. It could be wrong though, as MDL has known to be misleading quite often!
