What a dis-service to the existence and the memory of Dad. He never embodied such cheap sentiments of rivalry, and much less, among his own family members. (He always wanted to get his wife back, but never dreamt of one-upping the second husband of his ex-wife)... :/
Thus SDM's memories of Dad, inspiring her to fulfill his dreams rather than getting herself involved in sibling rivalry, feels like 'good-writing' :3

https://twitter.com/seonhomyeon/status/1347974130893606913 I'm just going to use it as the ending lol
This is SO beautiful. Not only does it branch off from the writer's story at quite the last minute (thus, minimal changes)... it also completes *every* character arc. Dosan's arc wasn't about the romance (it was about him getting over his insecurity and have faith in himself to establish a successful business); Dalmi's arc wasn't about smart-cars and finding a rich husband (but rather being a successful entrepreneur & fulfilling her dad's dream), JP's arc was never about him playing second fiddle to an immature romance or being a mentor stuck to thankless children (but rather the theme of 'found' family); InJae's arc was never being a hot-shot self-made CEO (partly yes, but her great character arc fulfillment was always finding her way back to Halmeoni, and realizing that both sisters were loved and cherishes equally, despite her having ditched them earlier on).
And finally, the letters had a purpose. They brought together the two writers of them, much like Dalmi's parents were pen-pals, while also bringing an underconfident and insecure kid called NDS (the 'pseudonym' used on the letters) out of his shell, giving him friends and people who will bring him confidence and support all throughout his life, people who he otherwise would never have met! :D
Beautiful indeed! <3

I used to think that NDS had the lowest self esteem in the show. Then I realize it's actually SDM.I placed myself…
Not to mention the violence bit, not once, but twice, is such a red-flag for me. DM had seen witnessed it once before, that jeopardizes their future as a start-up; and the second, well if she has any brains, she can anticipate who took the first hit. So yeah, the fact that this is glossed over, is problematic. What's even more problematic is his violent behaviour is 'rewarded' oft-times by her. :/ :/ :/

Regarding the whole big-reveal on the letters-bit, I was wondering with what characterization they had planned on for our leads (esp a non-confrontational DM), wouldn't it have made more narrative sense for the expose to come *after* the acq-hire contract? Because DM was going to be a doormat about this, and shove the whole matter underneath a rug, it would have been better if she got pissed at the deceit, and decided to let NDS go away, instead of being all sacrificial about it. The acq-hire would have been a blessing in disguise for her, them not contacting each other over 3 years would have made more sense, she would have 3 years to calm down (because the shenanigan went on for *far* more than that, 18 to be exact), she wouldn't have to resort to 'noble idiocy' to push him away [being pissed enough would have been a legitimate reason not to want to see DS again], and her initial discovery of the fact would have had her deal with HJP, without the hovering presence of NDS and his constant need to be baby-sit, over the three-years. The 'starting point' of JP x DM would have made sense if it fell towards the 3-year gap as well.....

I loved the othe Boleyn girl although I didn’t like their portrayal of Mary Boleyn. But you are on point in…
Yeah, Mary Boleyn was such a dishrag in that, with zero personality, although I guess that was the point! xD

Wolf Hall is definitely more politically intriguing, kinda like if GoT was told from the p.o.v. of Littlefinger, or the multiple 'hand (s ) of the King'... whereas Philippa Greogory's series is definitely a more romance heavy re-telling of the entire Dynasty!

The existence of Wolf Hall (s1), although it's a rival series adaptation; and the Other Boleyn girl (movie), makes me sad and wonder if they will continue adapting PG's series, after the Spanish Princess. I guess Henry's life get only more exciting *after* his first marriage till the point he contracts gout, and is left ineffective. His court politics PLUS his relationship with the Church is also quite interesting! :D

ps. Will sound shallow, but King Henry in the 'Spanish Princess' (young-adult version, is SO beautiful to look at! Kind of like a Caucasian k-pop idol) ^^

Eric Bana in 'the Other Boleyn Girl' is still my favorite (and historically more accurate) portrayal of Henry the VIII. In fact I found Johnathan Rhys Myer's version kinda Americanized, with all the inaccurate outfits, styling and sets... a lot like Reign (which seemed like a medieval-era Gossip Girl tbh, and an elaborate disservice to Mary, Queen of Scots)
The 'Plantagenet & Tudors' series by Philippa Gregory (a series of novels) and their mini-series adaptations by BBC One/ Starz (their third series has finished airing) are far more intellectually satisfying than 'the Tudors'... highly recommended to anyone remotely interested in this Dynasty! :D

Fellow Indian here. I'm Bengali and there in a term in our language is 'Da' for older brother inshort for 'Dada'…
Omygod yes! Falling in love with XYZ-da... and still calling him that. That's very common, and I wouldn't have realised Bengali's do it all the time, had you not spelled it out. It's such a subconscious thing! 'Da' afterall is a term-of-endearment or respect, for not just your own brothers, but older men, not old enough to be 'kaku-s'. xD
'Da' outside of your family could be platonic, or could be romantic, just used to indicate seniority, and age-respect.
And here, I was like : 'hmm, Bengali's don't have this problem!' xD xD

As far as I know, the onii-san is sometimes sexualized in the same way as 'daddy' is. Because well..the japanese…
Hmm, insightful!.. In short, steer-clear of 'onii-san' and 'senpai', because of their sometimes sexual-connotations! I always felt there was an undercurrent of flirtatiousness when girls said it, but I thought they were just trying to be 'kawai'. But I guess, it runs a tad deeper than that!
Thank you :D
I have now a full belief that all east-asian/ south-east asian countries have somehow a very sexualized usage of the word 'brother' in their own language, much like how 'daddy' has been used in the West!

Little factual correction guys...
LDH's drama (youth of may) is set in 1980 against the backdrop of the Gwangju Uprising. Casualties 2000+ Largely student-influenced movement

JHI's drama (snowdrop) is set in 1987, against the backdrop of the 'June struggle'. Casualties: in single digit? Involved millions of citizens.

I feel like JHI's drama won't be as sad. LDH's will be a tearjerker in the last quarter atleast :/ Be ready for another LDH character to DIE T_T

As somebody familiar with China's politics more than South Korea's, (due to textbook politics in our country).... this sounds quite a LOT like Tiananmen square incident, and has similar potential. If the outcome of that was like what happened in Korea eventually, we'd have movies glorifying the student movement there as well!
Oh, the potential! *_*

Kinda doesn't help I initially found strong JHI-vibes from LDH... ah it'll be a bloodbath for me xD xD LDH is starring with his sweet-home step-sister in this, folks be complaining cuz they are paired as romantic interests in this one!..

Agreed, that DMZ scene was SO beautiful, and all the themes of love, separation and political conflict entwined with it so meaningfully. In a way, I expect the entirety of Snowdrop to be just that!... Looking forward nonetheless. Also, even if Jisoo doesn't work out, hope JHI gives a killer performance, and shines as a leading man, that would cement his status among the A-listers! :D

I think he looks especially adorable in his puppy-look, and maybe he gets more/ less fan-attention/ objectification (depending on which he wants, although I think he wants to consciously be objectified lesser, because he's all about his work, and seems very low-key in other departments, despite being hyper-aware of the effect he has on women around him)

But I agree, he has outgrown his 'puppy-phase' already! Heavens, he is almost 35 already! Please give him 'manlier' looks. I know all the Ahjussi-Oppas have benefited from a more mature-makeover, and they have never looked *better* in their career!!

Just saw SDM photos of his. That undercut looks so sexy on him. Though he has crossed the age to sport a double-side fade, but maybe he can still rock it?! :D
I always thought stuff underneath your shirt is sometimes objectification, but men being protective of their foreheads xD xD

The brilliant part about being a theatre-actor, means you get to brush up your skills, minus the constant spotlight on your dating life. I am sure he has dated plenty before, kinda impossible to resist his charms and good-looks... and I am sad he won't get to publicly date anymore with all this fame.

I have only watched TWO of LYY's projects, and I need to know which ones you are talking about. Watching a few of her clips yesterday, and she has the same pixie-vibes as PMY, and now I *need* to see PMY being his costar. That's it. I think they'll have explosive chemistry and I would need to sit with a hand-fan during their scenes together. *__*

Well, about the 21-yo fan thing, I guess his response to her makes the fact that he claims to be an 'uncle-fan' of some girl-group....a lot less creepier...Heh! xD I still can't get over the fact that some other fan asked HIM on a DM, to leave his *own* fan-chat, because it was already full-house (obviously) and she wanted to get in! :P xD
Ps. I need to know how to watch KSH's theatre-works online? :P

Hmm, I need to know from someone familiar with Japanese-entertainment...
Have they started sexualizing 'onii-san' and 'sempai' the same way? Like 'Oppa' in Korea?
Would, and could a girl trying to hit on a guy, who she is familiar with (like an older colleague, or an upperclassmen)refer to him flirtatiously as 'nii-san' or 'sempaiiiiiii'? Or is that just weird? :O

His hair has recently got SO long, they have to curl his fringes into waves, to style it, so that it wont fall into his eyes and cause him irritation xD xD
I really think the world isn't ready for Asian men with undercuts and fades. And maybe they want to keep their sexiness teen-friendly! ^^ From good-boy straight fringes to cute-sexy, messy bedhead...seems like an acceptable range, comfortable enough for slightly shy men to operate within. But little do they know, good-boys are objectified too! :)
I also think korean-men would rather go shirtless than show their foreheads. Why, oh why? o.O
Restrains....? Excuse me, have you seen that tick in his jaw, when he gets irritated? Please KSH, let us live!! And surely, him biting his inner cheeks to control his rage should be rated-X? :P That shit ain't legal. *__*
Hm, about him dating... I think he'll end up with a girlfriend later in his life. With his current level of fame, maybe someone younger and non-famous. And if he blows up, like we want him to by 2023, then maybe an A-lister of similar age-range, looking to settle down by then! :D

You are absolutely correct on the CLOY-level of acting, since 80's in Korea are an actual fact in history and we know *how* angsty it might get. The political premise of it seems equally serious. On the bright side, JIH is the leading man of this drama, which means more likely he'll be the one carrying it rather than Jisoo. Which also means, her role is more like his 'plus-one', and not really like Seri in CLOY. Secondly, actresses like YIN and KHY in the cast-list could mean it's an ensemble-story. So, screen-time wise, we don't have to see her all the time, incase she fails in the acting dept. Either-way, the story's backdrop required some seriously-seasoned FL. Which is why I am more excited for Lee Do Hyun's drama set in the same era!!! :D :D
