Can someone tell if I'm just stupid or are all these historic Chinese dramas somewhat hard to understand? Hard to understand in the way that it uses dialogue that is so formal that it makes expansions sound very complicated to understand.
Ok I might get crucified for asking this but, I really want to watch this as it looks good from the comments and…
If you skip the songs you won't miss the overall plot but you will miss the important theme. And since Netflix k dramas are usually shorter than the usual 16, I think each moment is pretty important - but that it is just my opinion. So if you like analyzing stories and their themes I would say you shouldn't skip the songs, but if you just want the general feel of it all then I guess you can.
I have a feeling some random English reporters saw this poster and thought, " oh it's not shooting stars but sh**ting stars😏 I see smart" then now at first glance everyone thinks it shitting stars🙄 lol
this whole time i thought that drama was called shitting stars
Finally someone said it🤣 I mean it was Shooting at one point and then one day it said Sh**ting and imieditly I thought shitting😅 Like this has to be some PR or marketing mistake. It's a bit dumb
Theme: To stay true to yourself. To not lose sight of who you are and where you are going and what you are doing. "I'm not saying that you should only do what you want. I'm saying you should do what you want as much as you don't want" (there's a quote smth like that). "Society has standards for how the right and the wrong should be carried out. If there is an in-between, society will trap you into isolation, leaving you nowhere to go and no one to go to." - One's destiny is controlled by societal standards -> One's life should not be driven by these standards but be driven as these standards can lead one to lose sight of who they are. This is just my thought process of breaking down the theme because this drama is surprisingly very original, and theatrical, and the highlighted parts of the theme in the story shows a different perspective of the common theme of staying true to oneself.
Hmm I might be totally wrong, but could it be Netflix's way of promoting Apple, since both are American, and at…
Oh yeah maybe but another weird thing that threw me off was that in ep 4 or 5 Baek HaNa's Mac uses the Microsoft software. I don't know what to think of it. But just wanted to state that since it really threw me off for a sec there since I'm not use to seeing something so unusual.
Although this comment has nothing to do with the story, I'm just really curious. Since like forever k-dramas only used Samsung products (because they are all sponsored?), but some recent dramas are using Apple products. Or some, like this one use both but the more well off characters, such as Na Il Deung, use Apple, while characters that are more portrayed negatively or is poor are seen to use Samsung. And the Samsungs are usually not in good shape. Does anyone know the reasoning to this? Just really curious, it's sort of distracting me but not that it really matters. I can't seem to Google it too.
I binged watch this as much as I could despite starting watching it on a school day because I just couldn't put it down after the first ep. Like the best shots of Lee Jung Suk are in this drama in my opinion.
I'm usually skeptical of historic dramas being too much of a drag, or too dramatic, so I don't usually watch them. So this is the first k historic drama I've watched because of how comedic I heard it was. To be honest exactly all the episodes up to 8, was a bit of a drag for me, like I procrastinated on watching it but I also wanted to finish it, hoping that it will get better, and since I already started. So then everything after 8 was so much better. Everything before 8 was just all story plot setting, misunderstandings, and some politics and on top of that, there was not much progression in the plot during those first 8. But thank goodness the story really picked up after and including 8 or else I would've dropped it if it kept up like that till 10.
This is dark... but I like it. It's more original. The intro gives off enchanted vibes like Hotel Del Luna but the music, especially, with Janet Suhh, gives off eerie vibes like in, It's Okay To Not Be Okay. Both other dramas I find are very original but this one too, the dark twist in it is also very intriguing.
This was nice and very heartfelt 😢 but again it was too fast paced. It would've been better if it gave us more time to savour each moment. Like I get what kind of mood they're trying to convey but the way it was all put together didn’t allow the mood to be more present or felt by viewers. Like I don't mind if a movie is more than 2 hours as long as the movie is right.
