Person Kim Min Gue Spoiler
How can all of the characters that he plays be so likable?!?!? For instance in Snowdrop, when he was first introduced his character did seem somewhat like a snob/jerk as supposed but as a viewer, I didn't have much opinion on the character. But the more screen time he had the more likable he was despite the bad temper the character has! And now especially this latest ep of Snowdrop his character got me so hooked on the drama!

To be honest with you, I felt your comment was disrespectful. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was propaganda but…
Agreed. That propaganda comment might have been a bit too salty.

Ayo chill. I'm just dissecting the EXACT words that she stated in her comment. And yes I admit, those exact words then indirectly convey the message, @Khushi Malkhede is suspecting the whole cast and production team to be performing a whole marketing scheme of taking advantage of the big tragic news of someone's death to promote the viewing rates of the drama. Now I just wanna state that it is a possibility that people can interpret his/her comment differently but maybe most would interpret it negatively.
To state my opinion because I can, I find his/her comment to be quite stupid because she/he stated at the end of the comment, "...the timing could have been better than today's". And considering other factors like Kim Min Soo's funeral, I find her comment insensitive as it wasn't necessary to post such a comment at this point time and length in the time since Kim Min Soo's death.

his body wasn't shown so he's not dead. but let's pretend to be surprised when they show him alive lol
That is what I meant to say with that Penthouse reference. They'll try to fool the world that someone is dead but then come at you with a plot twist and say "Not today!", and then bring him back alive for some crazy reason.

probably because when people started watching, they didn't realize that so much of the drama would take place…
Yeah when I saw some of the photos on the ig pages I thought it was going to be a cute classy 80s romance and that it was just going to be hype because Jisoo from Blackpink is in it. But no.... it is so much more controversial.

Yesterday I posted a neutral comment over here. And damn people are saying stuff about " stop spreading your ugly…
Uh, your comment isn't exactly neutral. You took a big event that is viewed very strongly by the public as a sad tragic event and put a negative twist to it. You might not have meant it as you stated, "Btw I don't wanna sound like some who is gonna doubt on the actors' and actresses' intention but..." but by saying this, and not elaborating on what you meant by the whole production posting on the same day, and then finishing your comment off with your opinion, your comment is very very vulnerable to getting hate at it. Like you gotta understand your comment indirectly sounds like you are saying, you are suspecting the whole cast and production team to be performing a whole marketing scheme of taking advantage of the big tragic news of someone's death to promote the viewing rates of the drama. You probably might not have meant this but the way you worded your comment indirectly sounded might have sounded like this to people who viewed your comment. I'm not totally trying to hate your comment here as it also makes an observation of how they all posted on the same day. The fact that they posted on the same day is a fact; an observation, but the way one interprets why it came to the coincidence or the result of this coincidence is just an assumption or an idea or opinion. An observed possibility is that accounts controlled by pr companies could have made this a coincidence.

But you know what I am human this comment might have sounded like an opinion itself so wtf do I know I might in the wrong here as well.😀

If Snowdrop is meant to be PURE fiction, why do they use names of actual organizations and detail accounts of…
Ok let's get one thing straight here there is a fine line between 'based off a true story' and historical fiction.
'Based off a true story' is a story that retells an actual event in history that occurred through books or film. An example of this genre is the movie, Hotel Rwanda, which takes place during the Rwanda genocide that occurred in the country Rwanda between the Hutu people and the Tutsi people where the Hutus were killing the Tutsis. The movie talks about a hotel manager that starts taking in refugees into his hotel and helps save thousands of people.
Historical fiction is a genre of literature that allows people, writers, to say, 'what if this happened instead of what actually happened?'. Meaning that a writer takes a historical time or event in history and changes it up a bit but at the same time keeping the ideas of the event. This drama, Snowdrop, is an example of historical fiction as it uses a real event that occurred in history and adds a what if to it. The what if part is the fiction part of historical fiction; the whole drama basically where there is a guy who is a son of a major communist government and is a spy in SK and is now taking hostage women at a dormitory. The historical part that makes it historical is the references that it has like the ANSP, the Communist party in NK and the names that are either mentioned and can be seen. Historical fiction is fiction with real life references in them. Another example of historical fiction would be like all those dramas that take place in the Josean era where all the writing is in Chinese and the clothes are more traditional and the is old af. Just because these Josean era dramas doesn't necessarily take place during an actual event and has references to those events doesn't mean that it isn't historical fiction- it is still old af.

Snowdrop does reference a historical event but it doesn't cover an actual event that occurred during this event of controversy. Rather the director or screen writer asked the question what if; what if this plot happened during this major event in history; what if controversial people or groups in history did this rather than what is said in history? As to where to draw the line, well a good logical line to draw is where ever things didn't actually occur in history is fiction and where ever things did occur in history is real.

I don't think Snowdrop is meant to purely be only fiction rather I think it is historical fiction. Plot holes in any story is meant for viewers to use their imagination to fill it in. There is no right or wrong answer even if the author had an answer in mind I believe that they might be there on purpose for viewers to engage in the story and imagine what would fill that whole up. In respect to historical fiction, it would be logical to say that what ever actually happened during that time in history would fill up that whole in the plot. If what ever happened doesn't smoothly fit in well I guess it is up to viewers to interpret it in a way to smoothen it out- imagination.

I have no problem with Jisoo's acting but I do understand complaints about her voice.
But maybe the complaints occur because her voice is unique compared the others like one can easily identify who's voice that is. So in a way it is nice.

Oh I see where you're coming from now. So what you're basically saying is like in perspective of making the story the directors should not have panned out the story like that. I guess you are right but then I think has symbolically has more meaning in that way.

In my opinion I find that Boon Ok's character is so insecure and so protective of her self that finding a man is like the next chapter after she betters herself. And comrade Joo is the one played by Kim Min Kyu right? Either way his character needs a snicker because he has some anger and some ultranationalistic issue and these issues are so out of hand that it would need lots of time before he is able to get a lover or to have those chill feels that Soo Ho has.

Well then that is like saying, Soo Ho shouldn't have previously said that he would let her be free just to get even. In my pov, I interpreted that part of Young Ro pointing the gun at Soo Ho as just a survival instinct because of how scared and shaky she was.

Sorry, can someone fill me in on the controversy of how this is historically wrong? I remember seeing it in a headline somewhere but didn't get the chance to look too into it. So I don't want to be watching this and then later on offending someone.
