Ep8: Skipped through 90% of it, ended as expected. Boring, forced-typical ending. Everything besides the story-line/plot in this BL was great, unfortunately, the acting/casting and film style cannot carry a badly written/executed story.
Satisfying. I appreciate the steady push by Ji Hwan for communication post their initial separation. Keep things clear. Min Jun had some issues but the fear of inevitable total separation (again) AFTER a clear expression of feelings by Ji Hwan helped him get over himself. 8/10 for me.
Oh I didn't realize I forgot to watch ep 7 lol, but I did now. Yeah so, he's probably gonna end up with Jihoon, the writer/director clearly had no hidden cards, this entire show's premise is based on the misunderstanding trope it seems. That's pretty lazy but I was still curious enough about the show, up until I learned the webtoon final pairing outcome (learned the truth about Ha Min).
My viewpoint: I don't like Jihoon, I don't personally feel bad for, or find this type of character who lacks self awareness, attractive or interesting. I actually think Ba Woo thinking he's being pitied makes sense, because what has Jihoon actually done or said to express interest or attraction? Just like the girl at the coffee shop who said 'I like you because you helped me carry a heavy thing', Jihoon saying 'I read in your notebook that you like me, so now I like you too', it sounds very stupid and superficial and doesn't make sense. I dunno what the dialogue was like in the webtoon, but can Jihoon (or the coffee shop girl) not account for actual feelings or attraction? Are they not able to say "I like your smile." or "Seeing you makes my day/gives me butterflies" or "Spending time with you makes me feel happy, I want to be around you all the time", "You're always on my mind" blah blah blah, pick your cheesy romantic one liner. Standard vocabulary, use some words, open your mouths. Writer and director on some crack for sure, because what's the mental run down of these unselfaware characters who talk in circles and then make decisions based on others decisions? Eh, boring. I'ma fast forward ep 8 when it comes out, rate this according to my system, (won't be high) and then I'll forget this BL happened.
What a waste, everything about his was appealing outside of its own redundant storyline. And Ha Min was a mistake (to add) because for myself (and a few other viewers who've stated so) he is the more likable potential love interest. Ball successfully dropped.
Day already researched about people who born on 29th on internet, it was in previous episodes, I feel as ozone…
Yeah, that's the whole baby born at an exact time, delivered by a holder of the curse? That's one loophole. But yeah, Day and Night and 'good guy' characters, so they won't do something like passing on the curse. They're gonna have to figure something else out.
Day already researched about people who born on 29th on internet, it was in previous episodes, I feel as ozone…
I'm not sure just staying together would work, it seems too simple, no? I initially thought that Day and Night would have to become close, like to love each other like family, so they cancel each other out since the curse might not kill them, but I don't think that'll be it either. There's gotta' be a bigger twist coming.
Yo, Night really used Instant Teleportation to get across the kitchen and catch Dream's fall LOL
Good episode, this ep went a long way to building emotions and character connections, which is really necessary when you have a show where the leads are trying to stop deaths of loved ones from happening. All the relationship and friendship buildings scenes were great, everything from the scene outside the lift through to the library and birthday party, really well done.
The abrupt forward progression of figuring out the loophole did at first feel too rushed, with how they inexplicably rushed to look through personal papers at HOME for a clues instead of searching, like, the internet or something for other cases like theirs. It felt like a few mental steps were missing, but then when Night was like 'let me show you what I found' and we see he's got a whole Federal Bureau of Investigation set up, it's shown he really did proper research, not just searched around his house. Dream seems to be the 'glue' for bringing everyone together, Ozone is the one with supernatural insight and Night is obviously meant to be the one who parses information and makes connections really quickly. I'm guessing Day's value in the group will be physical strength, or maybe something else we will see as things escalate. I look forward to things escalating!
loving the chemistry between the main leads!! but i just finished ep 4, and i'm struggling to find the motivation…
😆 Have you ever played an RPG? Whether you trust the NPC or not, you still have to play the level out and follow the NPC's directions and the game's laws, while trying to figure out how to win/stay alive. The premise for the series is similar to the video game format, so if you're not into the RPG/mystery/adventure game format, some of the events may annoy you a little, but I'd vouch for this series any day.
Actually it's now 38, long story short, it was released as short eps and ran into censorship issues, those short eps were counted as 78 before they were taken down from iQiyi. Then later the show was re-released properly in a 38 episode format with a proper intro and outro. Nothing's changed/edited, as a rewatcher of this series, I can guarantee that.
Ep1: Ngl, this is like an adaptation from bad fanfiction, I would have thought it was GMMTV if not for the extra side of workplace sexual harassment and MLs making out with other peoples shoulders lol. GMMTV plays it too careful for that. I'm not sure I'll make it through episode 2, not sure when or if I'll get to episode 2 actually. Ah well, guess I'll see. Anyway, I tried it.
I understand that the show is trying to establish context, character, and motivation for the main characters but…
This is one of those shows where I'd suggest the viewers who are here for the BL specifically, to consider adjusting their expectations. This is likely going to be a show with a broader scope where the protagonist is gay and there will be 'BL', but I don't think (and I personally hope) it won't be the sole focus. It's going to be a part of the protagonist's journey, as relationships are a part of everyone's lives, but the show has more going on than just that and I think that's what they're going for here, a full plot.
It's really about different tastes though, because I watched the first two eps without even thinking about the BL aspect. And when the ML couple finally meet, I really hope there's no fucking slow motion. lol
Bro really went to prison and said : "If you can't beat them, join th- fuck no, I'ma make sure i BEAT THEM. Literally. LOL I love it.
What a pleasure to watch a Thai BL with such a fully and well paced developing plot and with so much context, proper multi character introduction and good acting. They're letting every scene play out with full dialogue, not skimming around the plot to rush anywhere or try to make anything seem nice about the criminal premise/setting they've chosen for this show. It's got a 'you die how you live vibe' going so far, nice. I really hope the show maintains this serious plot focused vein all the way through. Even with the occasional production flaw popping up in certain scenes, these first two eps have been a SERVE. Much kudos. I am seated.
This was actually a really good episode, for many reasons. I am too lazy to state the many reasons, but the main one that stands out was the actual proper dialogue/communication and directly stated things between the two MLs which led to the first level of clearing the air between them. It's a bad reflection on many other BL to note, but still true, that generally, the MLs almost never have actual clear, mature discussions about their romantic/sexual relationships with one another, not the before, during or after. This was enjoyable and added a level of depth to what could have been another ep of 'misunderstandings' as we too often have to swallow by the bucketload in BLs before anyone gets anywhere.
Glad the boring secondary love rival trope is over, I was dead ass about to put this On Hold and probably would never have gotten back to it if that yawnfest dragged into another episode.
You do know that Ozone is autistic? So patting Day's head is probably his own way of showing he loves him. I don't…
Tell me you've never paid attention to an Asian show without telling me 🤡 Alternatively, if you're reaching for some reason to be offended about something, you can watch this Youtube video to understand better: https://youtu.be/zpgMbWkTnPU?si=-ga5q-3Jq7nEJZgr&t=248
The Loop eps were the best. Overall this was very basic, but I do like the dialogue for these short stories, more direct than in some 12 and 16 episode shows.
Still good kush. Judging by what Hei said to Bai and his inner monologue at the end, it seems to me they're setting it up to be that when Hei does find out who Bai really is and what he's doing, he's probably not going to be too angry about it. He seems the simple and straightforward type, the type who's willing to forgive and forget if the person's intentions are good, that's the bit of naivety in his character. Bai isn't a bad guy though, so I reckon the 'angst' when it comes won't be too bad (for those out there who don't like angst. Me? I'll take a side dish of angst with everything I watch happily lol)
I could have done without the implied 'brother is lowkey gay too' but Taiwan seems to be on a bender of rallying against the low statistic of siblings both being gay since last year lol, so I'll just glaze that over because I really like the rest of what this simple, yet enjoyable, BL is doing.
Also, Ha Min's character potential was wasted.
Yeah so, he's probably gonna end up with Jihoon, the writer/director clearly had no hidden cards, this entire show's premise is based on the misunderstanding trope it seems. Good stuff, keen for the next ep!
