It does. But it does get resolved very quickly.! The ML is completely devoted to the FL. He doesn’t marry anyone else.

I think the parents want to maintain that distance because they want their son to get together with the FL, lol.

I’m thinking yes, especially with rumors of them going to the modern world. It may be 2 different novels, but there are tie-ins to Yunxi with all those mentions from the drama.

Tencent does this also, allowing VIP members in China to buy all the episodes early. That’s why some end dates on MDL seem too early.

I’m not going to complain because both iQiyi and Tencent put out Eng subs quickly. Plus, I get to ask and read all the spoilers. ^_^
