The positives: 1. Insane chemistry between the main leads and 3rd couple plus stellar acting from the whole cast. 2. Gorgeous, elaborate costumes and accessories. 3. Magnificent sets created for the drama. 4. Hauntingly beautiful and addictive OST, it will grow on you. 5. Fast-paced, no draggy parts. 6. Easy to understand dialogues without the jargon and indecipherable sentences sometimes used in xianxias.
The negatives: 1. Shoddy editing in some episodes due to Cnet regulations/restrictions. 2. Hair and makeup faults are more obvious since they use HD camera. 3. Unhealthy relationship trope. 4. Some characters exhibit mental disabilities/disorders.
Despite the negatives, the drama created a big impact in the viewers' hearts. Yes this trope is often used in xianxias but this time we get a female lead who is not wishy washy, she is steadfast in her actions and is not some annoying damsel in distress.

And TTJ is right, those things that happened were not his fault. 2. Fast forwarded Sheng King scenes. Sorry General Ye and YQY 🙇♀️ 3. YXW is this tiny slender defenseless-looking girl, and yet her karate chop to NBY's upper back caused him to fall to the floor like the big lug that he is. 4. YXW's seductive dance looks so real but we know from the bts it was anything but XD plus the other ladies including NBY's sister were jealous of her! 5. Not me feeling sad at TTJ thinking YXW jumped overboard and abandoned him just like everyone else... 6. I don't hate the actor who plays TTML but his makeup makes him look like a sleazy conman. 7.
