I think it is more of that FL wants to be part of a big organisation and handle PR on a larger scale than ML wanting her to join his team. And now that she has 2 job offers. 1 as a team leader at a mid company and other as a probationary employee at a top company. The choice is hers. Even though we all probably know she will choose the top company. Also I think there is a backstory to ML being safe. As the other team leader wanted him back.
