So I guess instead of saying ensemble cast I should have said multiple main cast (sweet home, law school, etc..). What I'm trying to say is that most of her series that she selected and stared in usually have multiple stories (moving parts that connect to one another) instead of just one story that focuses just on her with the exception of CTLBT ( she has the most screen times even though she is billed second but I think I understand why she is second because she is junior to her costar).

I'm not downplaying her success and her handworks but they way GYJ selecting scripts is the result of her and her agency collaborative strategy (every talent agency has its own strategy). There is always a team stands behind ready to support her. If you don't believe me watch most of her interviews she's always mentioning and thanking her team for supporting her.
Both RP and CTLBT are collaborative efforts and yes she played a huge role in the success but she was NOT the only one. I have not seen any movie or series from any country that's a ONE man show and if you've seen one please show me.
I'm surprised to see roh yoon seo in the cast. Two MAA artists in the same drama.
I guess MAA has some sort of leverage to negotiate with D+ production team since GYJ was already in the first one and will be returning after achieving two successful projects with Netflix ( CTLBT, and resident playbook both were commercially successful).

I think GYJ and her agency have been smart in selecting high-budget, ensemble-cast projects, so the success of a production does not rely solely on one person. This helps distribute responsibility and reduces the pressure of carrying a project alone.
I also believe the agency’s CEO may have a background and strong connections in the fashion industry. Many of their artists model for high-end fashion brands and appear in commercial films even before establishing themselves as actors.
What's her family background? How did she get a lead role in a drama worth $15 million when she only had 2 guest…
It's the Korean way of casting, if you are pretty you have more than 50% chance of getting the role. People just need to chill...if you don't like her watch something else.
I miss go youn jung. I have been busy studying and stopped watching kdramas lately. But now I'm free. And thank…
It's easier now a days cuz there are multiple good series of hers to go back and rewatch (while waiting for her new projects) as compared to a few years back when we didn't have many options then.
Huh no ma’am, many of us on MDL watched this for GYJ, this happens to be the lowest rated GYJ drama on MDL.…
I never get bord rewatching "the greatest love". Both leads are great actors and they really match well - I have no complain. The story is nothing special but I just like it.
She's even played a mom if i remember correctly...she's definitely versatile and done all kinds of roles already!
Even though she was supporting character I believe her story stands out the most in the whole series. I became her fan in 2022 after watching law school and then sweet home.

If I have to pick one of their series it has to be " the greatest love" where I actually like both the leads equally (may I say I like both actors equally).

Yes, they may not be the best writer in terms of quality but they understand their target audience and fulfill that entertainment gap. Think of coca cola which is popular but do you think it's the best product out in the market, no - similar concept or strategy used.

While I see your point about the character archetypes, calling them 'washed up' feels like a stretch given their track record. I’ve genuinely enjoyed titles like The Greatest Love and CTLBT. They might not write high-brow literature, but they know how to create engaging entertainment, which is why they remain so popular.
There’s a difference between criticizing behavior and attacking the person you're talking to. If explaining a different point of view makes me 'the same' as her in your eyes, then there isn't much point in continuing this. Have a good one.
My point remains that her actions were based on her own sense of right and wrong, even if it conflicts with yours. Attacking my identity doesn't change the fact that people often act in their own best interest. We can disagree on the ethics of the situation without it becoming a personal issue.
As you said "who gives a shit"....that's true and that's why she didn't care what other people thought of her and just did what she thought is best for herself and her family. She just lives her life and does what makes her happy. What she did SAYS it's wrong to other people BUT to her it's the right thing to do. I'm not defending her but it's her life she's living and it's not our business to say otherwise.
Maybe that's her last chance to have a another baby and she took it. I just checked out her IG, she seems to be a responsible mother so I guess it works out for her.
