There aren't many actresses who are younger than him though except few famous child actors ( even them are now getting older). Even Yeo Jin-goo
who was a kid the other day is now older than Jae Wook.

Yes, they don't look much different in term of maturity. I would love him to pair up with Kim Yoo Jung or Kim kim or Nam Ji Hyun ( famous child actors).

Not sure how but movie actors are richer than drama actors. Example:
Song Kang Ho, Jeon Do Yeon, Seol Kyeong Gu.

Movie. Actor gets paid more doing movies.

Might just be a cameo. She won't have time for supporting role if she's not the main role. She's booked with her movie with Kang Ha Neul.

With all the money the used for the CGI maybe they can't afford hiring JSM. She's more expensive than the ML for sure... if not than welcome to real life as women get paid less in general. JSM just jumped in the last minutes after the first actress (newbie also) got fired or left on her own ( we never know) ....most likely got fired. I have followed JSM since "My Father is strange" and I got into GYJ since "Sweet Home" so it doesn't matter which actress is on this project I will watch it until the end. One thing for sure is that this is not Go's fault in getting this role, if anything it's the responsibility of the production team/the director.

Another possibility is that JSM is more expensive than newbie actors.

JSM didn't get kicked out, she just got 1 season. We can argue/debate all we want but we won't get the director to change his mind. This drama really boosted JSM's popularity ( win win situation). She is already a great actress but not super popular compared other popular but not so skillful actresses from her generation. I am sure GYJ is good enough for the director to bring her back. We cannot compare these two actresses as one is new and the other is experienced.

As for Go, yes it is a step up for her but not because of she's replacing JSM but because the director's decision to cast her. GYJ is new to the industry and for the director to keep her for S2 is a great opportunity to gain new experience. If the director didn't like her she would not been able to return to reprise her role as Naksu. She didn't put gun to the director's head .

Whether she knew it or not it's not important. The director reached out to JSM to fill in for s1. Given that she and the director had good relationship she agreed to help him. She wasn't part of the plan initially but since his first choice got fired he had to look for help and saw that JSM would fit the required role.
