Yeah the dichotomy in her character really shocks me. How can some read people so well for work but be so awful…
Yes, I reluctantly agree...lol. I am not surprised that Bailu took on this role. The FL character is a smart, sassy and successful reporter who is just terrible at personal relationships - it is an interesting character and the show would have been fine if they didn't take so long to drag out this miscommunication trope...
The only reason why Shan Shan is even able to be in a happy relationship is because Guan Ji is the smartest and most willing to put it all out there... Does Shu Yi know that her best friend is now with Guan Ji or is SS also hiding things from her?
She blocked him in preview and it looks like SML lied about the tree incident to spin the narrative on his side.
Well, they're definitely doing their best. I don't mind the ML as much since I watched knowing that it is the typical overbearing CEO trope but the FL is handling things really badly all and mostly because of her silly-ass friend.
I don't care what happens in the last 7 episodes. I just want Bailu and Dylan in another drama that is actually well-written and with a FL who has a consistent level of EQ and does not listen to her friend so much. Plus a ML who can put aside his pride and do listen to his friend and niece.
For a sharp, discerning reporter who can read people, Shu Yi is incredibly foolish regarding Shi Yan.
Each episode is gripping and ep 12 is no different. All the double-crossing and reveals, and the cliffhanger at the end....this show helps to get my adrenaline pumping at the start of my day!
Iām going to be happy about ep 29. They are not quite there yet but at least the leads openly rejected others and acknowledge that they have each other in their hearts.
Shi Yanās face when Shu Yi jumped into his armsā¦heart melting
I need Shu Yi to grovel now. Be honest and open and tell the man you have fallen for him.
Maybe they don't know it exist š I've been eagerly awaiting it since I found out.
Su Xiaotong is showing up more for sure as her identity is revealed. So far Iām quite engrossed in it, the action and suspense have not disappointed!
Just discover this. Didnāt know the Imperial Coroner CO will do a modern drama. Is it good so far? Watch first…
So far itās been great - fast paced, action packed and suspenseful. Think fight scenes, guns and bombs, car chases, internal scheming, plotting and betrayal. We know who the bad guys are but we donāt know what will happen next. Wang Zi Qi is excellent as the ML. Quite different from his other characters but heās really doing well. Not much romance. Iām actually not expecting any except maybe some slight indication of interest.
I tuned in every week to watch how YJ and SDG and his family especially the queen Mother šāāļø smack down their enemies. In eps 7 & 8 - So satisfying to see the defeat on Jung Wookās face when SDG took away all his aces and the desperation on Yoo Raās face. If only ep 8 did not end with Lee Jung Hyeās smug look.
JXNās mother really doesnāt know how to say good words to her own daughter. Then there is ZZās mother who…
Thatās the part I donāt get - even if he cannot tell his mother the truth, he can still have people take care of her. He has risen high enough in his rank that he can afford more servants.
Best part of this show is the character development not only of the leads but also the side characters.
ML was considered a gray character but his actions werenāt wrong from a business perspective. His fault was how he dealt with his relationship. To me, he completely redeemed himself.
FL was simply awesome all the way through - how she dealt with the trials and tribulations was really good to watch.
Second couple left me dissatisfied at first but the SFL also redeemed herself in the end. Since I have always supported the SML, it felt good to see him happy.
The acting was excellent and everyone did well. Simon Gong and Elaine Zhong have proven their acting chops here. The plot was engaging, the writing and storyline were consistent. Romance was worth the slow burn and the final outcome. I enjoyed the OST as well.
This show is underrated for sure on MDL. I would recommend it!
