Tell me about it. Almost all of the recent xianxias I watched did not have good strong finishes visually even when it came to happy endings. Either it was via narration, or dreamlike sequences..happy endings were implied but I want to see them!!!
I disagree. I think Chen Du Ling did a great job being the antagonist. Most comments show people hate her, and…
Ah that's interesting and also clarifies why there's weaker acting from her. I have never seen her other dramas but others have remarked that she has acted well previously.
I agree. Either it's her acting or how she's directed to act. I think it should be better, but the novel has her…
Yeah - she is truly the hate-vessel in which case, I want to see a villainess that is memorable like Ying Deng, the lamp lady in Immortal Samsara, or Shunde in the Blue Whisper... Again, maybe the novel just did not portray her as a strong villain...just a plot device to move the story along...
I disagree too... I do think she did good, well ..not like LYX but still she is good .. When she pull the maid…
OK, I will wait to see her in her 3rd character :) I actually did not see much difference between her portrayal of YBC and TH. In front of Ming Ye/TTJ as well as Sang You/XL - same kind of pampering and clingy character. Her smugness as TH did differentiate her characters but that was not great acting to me. Actually, I never saw her as having any kindness or consideration for others but I could have missed that.

We just have to agree to disagree :D Because I am not impressed with the acting as just a plain old villainess. Her facial expressions were too flat for me so far, but maybe it's because she was trying to portray a green tea character. So the emotions were too weak to be impactful. Also, it could just be my wishful thinking that her character should be gray, kinda of like TTJ but like you said, maybe she is just meant to be plain unlikeable to all.
Perhaps. I just wish that the show went a different route than the stereotypical green tea 2FL. In fact, I think it's the puppet spell scene that is more crucial to propel YXW to complete the mission.
I feel like YBC’s character was meant to be a debatable one where we will have people criticizing her for being so scheming and selfish, but at the same time others will defend her right to protect herself. Unfortunately, to me, the actress fell flat in delivery.
Our main CP was so gorgeous in today’s episode (23)! And YXW’s falling as hard as TTJ. I appreciate the show, giving us all the sweetness before the angst. I love that TTJ is exposing YBC’s true nature and now PR is after her too. Unfortunately, I know she will still be around annoying us for a while!
