I think that the actors must have so much fun playing their characters, especially the leads! I don't know how they can keep such straight faces through some scenes and dialogues :D

I think the red robes are the “scholarly” court officials and the purple ones are the military officials. Liuli may come from a military family but her position is a court official one, so she wears the red robe.

I hope that the relationship between the emperor and the crown prince continues to be good. It’s rare in period dramas; most of the time the emperor is threatened by his son…

I like how the show contrasted the difference between young love and mature love. How GX and LC grew up and realized what was important in a relationship and how to keep it going strong.
LC was so cute when he fretted over the fact that she didn't say goodbye :D

DYX has played a few jerk turned awesome ML roles including Moonlight, Intense Love and TROTAR.He does such roles so well even though he has such a cute fresh face 😁

True true...It will be hard for him to think of GB as his skilled bodyguard after that 🤣

If you like PXR in this one, you might want to try Jun Jiu Ling - she plays another smart strong FL. Of course, then there is the popular Goodbye my Princess but that was much more melodramatic.
I agree about the sets - definitely have a different feel...

This is a fun watch so far but I see some angst in the teaser clips! PXR is as lovely as ever and DYX does not disappoint as usual.

I got my boyfriend to watch with me so that I can point the sweetness of Lu Chen 😆 including how he even thought about her knee and prevented her from hurting it when he pulled her down. I love all their scenes and the accompanying OSTs.
