People are forgetting that XLH is still a part Shuyuntian and Hellfire is still a threat to her clan. They are…
I guess I didn’t explain myself well. I am not against XLH wanting to change DFQC by fixing his Love Tree. I just want her to acknowledge that some of his suffering was because of her doing too. Her lack of awareness of why he couldn’t sleep well for example was too clueless for me. Most of the time, I’m not bothered by how naive XLH is because she is usually insightful and is intelligent in her own way. Your explanation makes sense and I agree that we no longer see the sweet innocent XLH once she regains herself fully as Goddess Xiyun.
Yes. EW is very insightful. She knows how to read situation well & ask questions/enthusiastic about learning.…
Yes! Poong is very smart too but he was humbled by his traumatic experience. I am looking forward to seeing him regain his confidence and together they make even more of a power couple!
So well said. She is not a weak character, she is strong in her own way. Emotional intelligence and empathy are…
XLH has definitely shown emotional intelligence throughout the show. Not only that, she’s also insightful. Even Rong Hao didn’t expect her to see through his fake Chang Heng scheme.
Episode 4 was more tense as the stress hit closer to home! I’m liking Eun Woo more as she displays an insightful side and high EQ. I also enjoyed seeing how the Gye Su Clinic family rallied together to save a life. Now the wait for ep 5 😢
A very random comment but I wanna talk about how freaking pretty Esther looks in this show because I can't stop…
So true - Esther does look very pretty in this show. She also looked lovely in Moonlight. I just expect DFQC and CH to melt whenever she gazes up at them. Definitely brings out the protective instinct in me 😁
By the end of ep 18, it’s obvious XLH deserves a shout out for having courage. She faced down the ferocious Ying Zhou beast, she did not get intimidated by the mean fairies, she handled herself whenever the Haishi City baddie and his sidekick appeared, she didn’t cave under the emperor’s torture to confess that she was a spy, she dove to the bottom of the Memory Loss river, and most importantly she completely ignored most of DFQC’s orders… that girl is brave as heck!
Emotions and feelings, positive or negative, are part of what make you the person you are and you're void of identity…
That’s not my point at all. Of course everyone has the right to emotions and believe me, I’m not hating on XLH. I like her and I do want her to do her thing to heal DFQC. But I also just want her to show a bit more self awareness and realize that some of his torment at that time (ep 17) was because of her doing.
Agree. Of course I want her to continue on her quest to heal him. It’s more that she is still portrayed as this clueless “oh why is he not sleeping well? And not connecting his current torment to what she was doing. I like XLH but I would be disappointed if they don’t showing her becoming more aware and emotionally more matured
She is your typical dumb cdrama's FL with a grating baby voice
I wouldn’t call her dumb, more super naive because of her age and sheltered life. XLH did display some EQ in past episodes. However after all her recent experiences and with DFQC so clearly telling her about why he’s suffering and why he cannot regain his feelings, it would have been nice to see some character growth and some hesitation that maybe what she was doing may not be best for him. Maybe it is too much to expect the FL to think about the big picture…
Watch ep18 first, and DFQC will even thank his little Orchid later on, I'm glad of what she did for him plus she's…
I agree that she is too naive about Jieli. The first time, fine l - she had no clue but to defend her over and over again. It was hypocritical for XLH to tell DFQC that it was wrong from someone to break into another’s house but that was exactly what Jieli did. She even lied to cover up for Jieli.

I’m sure ep 18 will help to overcome my annoyance with XLH but the fact still remains that she was blindly focused on her quest to heal him without considering the cost to him. We the audience and he will thank her because he can now feel and ultimately them being together is what we all want. I just wish this show did not follow the usual trope of the naive FL innocently continuing with what she does and how she is. Ultimately it is the others who will change around her. I want her to have a bit more emotional growth by now.
I’m on episode 17 and appreciate all that XLH is doing for DFQC to help him heal. At the same time though I’m annoyed because even after he clearly told her why he was so troubled and suffering because his emotions are coming back., she still doesn’t seem to connect the dots. Does she not see that he does not want to lose his Hellfire powers? When XLH said that she must find the Secret Book in the First Supreme Moon Lord’s room in order to find out what’s bothering DFQC’s sleep, I’m like ‘Duh, girl he cannot sleep because you are insisting on making him feel again. Is that obvious???’ I know that’s just how the screenwriter is writing the plot to progress the romance but I feel it’s a bit weak to make XLH that stubbornly naive and unable to understand DFQC’s dilemma. She is blindly pushing on with her own agenda and goal to “heal” him.
Episode 3 was awesome…leads showcasing their intelligence through solving the case, hints of romance as the ML’s admiration of the FL became more obvious, political shenanigans, with some comic relief…I like how Eun Woo helped to translate Poong’s medical jargon to his confused audience 😆 I’m curious about Kye Ji Han, the grumpy physician’s background. He definitely has secrets…
Probably preference. This drama juggles various tone & genre so it may not be their cup of tea. But please give…
You’re right…the 1st episode surprised me since it didn’t match the tone of the opening credit song. Then the 2nd episode had a mixed comic and tragic tone. I find it refreshing and already think 12 episodes may be too short 😀
