I think a lot of time was wasted creating an unnecessary fox clan that is not in the book. The story of the novel…
I think the show created the fox clan for a couple of reasons: 1) In the novel, it took many years for Chang Yi and Kong Mi to gather followers and eventually Chang Yi became the lord of the North. The introduction of the fox clan makes it easier for that subplot to progress faster because there is already an organized structured group for Chang Yi to take over eventually. I think it is an easier story to show visually.
2) Cool fight scenes - having the fox clan and the early introduction of Zhu Ling (the leader of the fox clan's enemy and Shunde's man), the show included a a couple of fight scenes which indirectly showed us how Chang Yi has regained a lot of power and became more resourceful, on his way to becoming the Lord of the North,
I do agree that there is no need for the scenes to bring the Fox King back to life, or any scenes with the annoying cousin brother of the fox princess. Also Qing Yao as the love rival is just plain irritating. I am waiting to see how the show would use her as a plot device towards the end of the show.
Yunhe is dying. She would rather Chang Yi misunderstand her and move on rather than to spend his life missing…
Yes, that's the main reason why Kong Ming and Yun He do not want Chang Yi to know the truth. For Yun He, there is no point because she is dying anyway so it is better that Chang Yi focuses on leading the people of Bei Yuan instead of being distracted by her. Kong Ming also wants Chang Yi to focus on the cause. In the novel, it is good that it is Shunde who reveals the whole truth to Chang Yi. If it was anyone else except for Yun He, Chang Yi would be so angry with them!
I’m loving Chang Yi’s latest outfit - the silver and slate blue tones pair so well with the embroidery. Also the belt and overall pattern, along with his cuff earrings…😍😍😍
Watching Changyi and JHY “fight” in the number of times she tried killing herself is just captivating.
In the novel, the scene where YH snatched CY’s hairpin is more bloody because she accidentally stabbed the pin into his hand when he used his hand to block her throat 😬
I have been flipping the book online, just so to get ahead with the drama in stead of waiting and waiting for…
Yeah, it’s a typical drama cliche. Introducing a love rival even if it is one sided. That way the show can use it as a plot device to create more drama like the ML needing to save the FL from the love rival…
Is she trying to escape with Lin guy? Why did they change the plot? Don’t like the Fox clan now.
I don't think so. It's more YH and LHQ planning to strengthen the forces against Shunde and the Grand Tutor. However, the fox clan caught them together so they wrongfully accuse YH for conspiring with LHQ. Looks like CY also had the same misunderstanding 😭
The first one when he kissed her in the lake, that was his Jiaozhu (inner pearl). In the novel, the first one…
OK, I finished episode 28. So the third time was Chang Yi transferring his LingLi (spiritual powers) to Yun He through his jiaozhu (inner pearl) which he had already given Yun He earlier (first time at the lake when he kissed her).
Like @WK1 said, please come back. My Mandarin is decent so I have finished season 1 and watching season 2 now.…
That's why I look forward to the discussions. I already want to vent about some of the changes like the introduction of new characters to create unnecessary drama...guess, we can't never avoid drama cliches
You found them!! Thank you. I think I am going to treat myself :D
Yeah same here. I am still googling now that you found out which brand it is. Although not sure if the ear crawler piece is from that brand. They don't have that style it seems
