Nope, we didn’t even get a scene between Fafa and Chang Ran 😡 instead we get a reunion between Fafa and her sister which was sweet but no acknowledgment of her police daddy. And a separate scene of Chang Ran sitting alone, showing that he has let go 😢 since she’s found a proper ‘dad’

What the heck was that ending? How can the show deprived us of the most anticipated reunion between Ran Ran and her mother? Even Deng Yan finally finding RanRan felt so flat! The show couldn’t spare us a feeling of satisfaction 😡 It was nice seeing Ye Xiu Ming and his wife reaffirm their love but honestly, we could have seen less of that and have one scene of Ran Ran hugging her mother. Even better, throw us a bone and do a voiceover explaining what happened to Ran Ran this whole time.

But in the end, my rating stayed high—because when the acting is this good (nearly everyone nailed it, with just a couple of supporting players missing the memo), and the storyline as well as production could have been stellar if it hadn’t been mercilessly chopped and rushed at the finish line, you’ve got to give credit where it’s due.
This show swept me onto a full emotional rollercoaster and kept me hooked—until the ride eased into a sluggish crawl. With each case receiving less care in its wrap-up, my emotional connection dwindled right alongside the attention to detail. And the ending…I kept checking hoping that Tencent made a mistake and forgot to upload ep 33. Or maybe they were going to provide it as a special episode. Rant incoming in the spoiler section below.
I think it's Wu Bin partially wanna make Xiu Ming with the identity of Cripple. And I think he covets Xiu Ming's…
I just finished ep 27 and I think you're spot on! He did seem to have ambiguous intentions towards the wife, and was ingratiating into their lives by wanting to be the godfather.
This was a good watch. I started 3 days ago and got so immersed in it that I finished last night. Great acting and the plot is tight. LHB's and CRX's characters were well written and I like how the show developed their relationship. I also liked their character development.
I would have given it a 9 if the editing was not so choppy at times. For the most part, the pace was good, and I also liked that the show does not try to explain everything to the viewers like we were 3 year olds. Some scenes are better left unshown, leaving us to use our imaginaitons.
Good ending - it was great seeing how justice was finally served.
Completely agree. Either the acting was not great or she is truly sus...Her reactions from the beginning to later…
Exactly, I wish she did have some reaction to show the wife what kind of "friend" she is. "Good" friends for so many years but she still find ways to justify her betrayal...no morals!
Completely agree. Either the acting was not great or she is truly sus...Her reactions from the beginning to later were so off...she didn't behave like a best friend plus she did betray her
I had to stop watching Ep 23 half way otherwise, I would be all swollen-eyed for my work meetings. The actors are doing so well and the show paid attention to even the smallest detail like DY's outfit during the funeral.
I think by now, most of us can guess who the ultimate mastermind or someone very close to him is. It is great to see the net tightening around these scummy people.
Hah - seems like the screenwriters all share the same idea.
I am also watching another police investigation show where the villains also tried the same method to distract the police by accusing the group leader of bribery/corruption.
I was glad too, that Jenny was someone else. Yeah, they left some ambiguous scenes to our imaginations. Great red herrings!

I cannot wait to see what happens to Jenny since the next episodes focus on her.
