I really didn't knew I would like this as much as I did. It gave me kind of the feeling of watching dragon ball or captain tsubasa, but in drama form, and I'm so here for it. Loved the kind of animey acting and writing, also the way the shot the matches. Hoping for season 2.

I really like and enjoy this drama. Like weekends are blessed. But, after hearing Eric Nam's theory on how it could have unfold... Something like that would have been so cool, bruh.

Review Was It Love?
Ok, so here's my kdrama overthinking:

I see the character in a different way. Like, girl has been a single mother and provider for her family for like fourteen years or so, so I don't think damsel in distress is the right term. She got caught up in a scam, sure, it happens, but it still not like she's waiting for other people to take responsability for it, she is working to solve things as much as she can.

Also, I think the way she tríes to be mother and father for her child is very realistic, many single parents are like that, and they sorta feel pressured when kids wonder about having another parent. Also, she only dated one of the guys, not that it would have been wrong dating the others, but it seems more like a Mamma mía kind of arc in the sense of it narrating how the daughter tríes to find out who's her father. Still, I agree with you in how what she did was wrong, but I'm waiting to see the reasoning behind it. Anyway, I like to see flawed characters as they seem more authentic than, you know, the good-bad tropes some dramas have. Because thats kind of how real people are. I guess having some not so amiable traits doesn't define you as a bad person, nor do having made some mistakes in your life.

Title Was It Love?
I'm really loving this drama so far. It's great to have a strong working woman as a FL, and the social commentary about single parenting is so cool and relevant. The only difficult thing is having to wait week by week.

there's nothing wrong????? are you unaware of the racism that's hella present within this drama? I mean there's…
I agree with you. It's very problematic indeed. Doing black face in 2020 is not aceptable, it never was. And using stereotypes to mimick and mock a culture for "comic relief" is not either. I was hoping for there to be some kind of scene where they twisted the discourse and talked openly about racism and prejudice, kind of like in Itaewon class, but I'm on chapter 8 and I don't think they're gonna go that way. So, I guess this is just some either ignorant or malicious people being unable or unwilling to relate to and communicate with people different to them who have different practices and beliefs. This will become the first drama I drop. It's straight up offensive and enraging tbh.

Didn't really understood characters in the last few episodes, but it was very fun to watch. The romance between the two leads evolved very nicely and it has some cute scenes. Male lead was funny, in a Sheldon Cooper kind of way, plus he likes recycling. Supporting characters and arcs made it more dynamic and entertaining, as they all had their own interests and stories.

Plot was soooo weird and creepy. I surely did not expect that plot twist. And I surely did not expect how everything went on after that either. Shock value: 10/10. Not a good shock, more like an agravating one, but still. Anyway, I decided to not take it seriously and laugh at the absolute non sense, the idea of someone thinking this is a romance and some of the cringe worthy scenes.

The editing and acting are so cringy. Script is very cheesy and so, so problematic and sort of tone deaf. Most toxic relationship portrayal in television. Production is fine by 2009 standards (hard to forget the very orange filter). But, still probably the most entertaining drama ever. Every scene is packed with emotion and twists and there are like 3 different arcs per episode, so, by the end you probably doesn't even remember everything that happened. It takes on every existing cliché for k dramas and that's awesome. You get evil mother, ultra rich guy, memory loss, accidents, kidnapping, mafia, love triangles, slapping, break ups, lies, all of it. Also, every character is so distinctive and the fashion and hairstyles are pure 2000's nostalgia. Lastly, it has LEE MIN HO in it.

So, yes, 10/10, ICONIC, TRAILBLAZING.

P. S: Great, great, great soundtrack.

This is one of my favorite dramas, and I've seen a lot, like a lot, of them. However, I think it is a matter of taste. It is slow paced and it takes a couple of episodes to introduce us to the story, which is quite dramatic and tearjerking, albeit very heartwarming and hopeful. It is a very unusual drama in it's content and it's message, but it is generally awesome, like, awesome script and plot, great acting, and great production and direction.

Character development is so well done and by the end you are interested in almost every single part taker in the story, as they all have their own motivations and struggles, but also strenghts and capacities, they have flaws and make mistakes, but that only contributes to their humanity. I have to say the male lead is 10/10, such a different approach to maculinity. He allows himself to be vulnerable, is not afraid to be earnest about his feelings and his weaknesses or to care about people and situations. Strong female lead, very smart, decisive and not timid. Great supporting cast, gets in your heart and makes you cry hard.
The interactions are also very heart warming and the romance is so healing and strong.
Lastly, it takes on a lot of social and ethical issues, such as corporate responsability, disability and mental health, but in a respectful and tactful manner.
Music's great, cinematography is also well done.

So, yes, 10/10 for me. We stan.
On The Bride of Habaek Jun 25, 2020
I was actually enjoying this until around chapter seven, then everything got hard to follow, because of múltiple assesments on the same past events, and kinda boring tbh. Episodes got very plain and repetitive. Last chapters were very difficult to watch and the ending was quite cringy and veeeeeery cheesy.
Also, hate how there is no coherence in the characters dynamics, like, they can dislike, threaten or plot against each other, and befriend all within an hour of airtime and with no consequence at all. Nothing makes sense.
Also, almost every arc is most interesting than the leads' romance, I actually wish they would have put more scenes of the servant doing part time jobs instead of those cheesy conversations between habaek and so a, and all the thirst trapping, because we all know the guy is handsome, but there should be a limit for uncalled for topless scenes.
The acting was not great, but the script wasnt that great either, so I dont think is the actors fault. Character development and exploration is very shallow, and almost everyone is an asshole, including the leads, which makes it difficult to care about anyone. Beside that, the motivations are unclear most of the time and the plot has no real direction whatsoever. Having said that, Mr. Shin was awesome, like, I teared up a little in his vulnerable scenes. Also his arc is the best one and I found myself rooting for him instead of the main character.
