Right?! It seems like they cut out a storyline and ended abruptly. Last 2 episodes didn't feel like coming to an end at all and loose ends were not tie.

It doesn't make sense to me either. I hate dubbing. Why is China so stuck on what voice fits what character? Who dictates what a certain character should sound like? If that is the case, they should cast someone appropriately with a voice that matches the character bc an actor's voice is a big part of their acting. It's 2024, I want to hear the actor's natural voice.

The FL don't have much personality either and he looks like he wants to eat her all the time. No obstacle, no fights, no real growth, and they are just oh so perfect, I'm sorry but I need more. Mo Bao Fei Bao dramas seem to have a lot of staring also which I can't stand, not realistic.

I actually decided to drop this after 15ep, yes half way bc it's draining me. And I want to say I like the two leads, saw them in other dramas before I enjoyed but I don't feel the CP and they seem to be always eating or not doing much to build characters or story. I also like pool but even that wasn't interesting to watch. I found out from a vid ML is supposed to be 6yrs older than her but I couldn't tell and maybe he's trying to act mature but it comes off creepy more to me. I gave up.

Highly anticipated dramas are so over hyped, ones that explode every year are usually dark horses...

OK, I'm on ep23, I'll comment more when I finish but even so, it's cruel to make FL believe he can stay away so long, 12yrs is a long time.

I have one major problem with male lead (spoiler alert) so he stayed away 12 years mad because he's holding a grudge that she pushed him away and didn't include him in the decision of wanting him to study abroad for a better future. 12yrs? and he's sure she won't meet someone else?? Supposedly he loves and cares for her a great deal coming back living across from her but not enough to reply a single email for 12yrs and totally disappeared??? That's the reason!!??

That goes to show what you know about acting and which American actor would use dubbing ? At least SWL respects his profession enough to use his own voice. We are all entitled to our opinion so I can talk about skills and bills all I want.

She will never be good at her speech delivery if she doesn't even want to use it. Rules in China are actors now have to pay for dubbing if they don't use their own voice. I have no respect for those who take the easy way out but demands the salary and first bill, it obviously shows what their priority is.

Why is Liu Shishi still dubbing in 2023???

I support cdramas going into new genres vs. the often over hyped costume dramas or over produced rom-com. I also love shorter dramas like these because they don't drag and waste your time with good pacing throughout. There are multiple cases that would pull you in and they dive deep into what it means to be human. The plot also doesn't forget about the leads with their own interesting arc to tell. Yes the story is not perfect, mostly because they had to edit and cut a lot in order to get pass censorship but this director Leste Chen at least tried. I also love his filming style. All the actors are well cast and gave solid performances. Song Weilong is able to prove his versatility and show depth in his acting with this new bearded look and character. Vicky Chen is an award winning young talent creating great chemistry with the male lead. I think it's about time cdramas do something different and I give them a lot of credit for it. It's an enjoyable watch overall which makes me yearn for more.

I was baffled why the leads didn't real kiss in The Long Ballad also but I think it is because Wu Lei was not 21 yet during filming and it is under his contract. I believe China laws doesn't allow kissing onscreen in TV dramas until 18 but movies you can because Song Weilong did not kiss in Untouchable Lovers, he was 17 turned 18 on set but did in his movie Love The Way You Are he filmed before also at age 17.

I applaud him for not backing down. Don't want him to be associated with Yu Zheng whatsoever. So the worst is over and now he calls his own shot. I look forward to all his future work.

She is but after divorce is usually when a woman would focus and work hard on her career. Plus their CP does look great in the trailer, just how good looking they both are is a feast for the eyes. I posted above. SWL was also younger than Seven by 9yrs in Go Ahead but no one could tell.
