I've heard good things about this drama but then saw some dramatic feedback by users over the twist at the ending. Hope that didn't ruin the overall story ๐ค
Insightful article as always and loved the visual format as well ๐ค Good tips at the end as well especially for newcomers to dramaland who might be overwhelmed with so many varying opinions from the denizens of MDL. Great job! ๐
Thanks for the detailed & well written review. The main reason why I am watching this cdrama is due to Cheng Yi…
Thank you for reading and appreciate the kind words ๐ค Yes, I agree with your points. C-dramas should cut down the episodes to make the story more impactful indeed and a lot of patience is definitely needed! *hi-5* for being a Cheng Yi fan too ๐
This adorable, fun, and lighthearted film is appropriately named because it really does feel like a summer film. Strong bonds forged between 3 girls and their classmates who band together for a Jidaigeki (historical) film project about samurais. There's even a sci-fi element in the form of a time traveler from the future.
In addition to the cute story, this film is a visual spectacle. Not so much in terms of the external views but the unique and deft execution of cinematography techniques. One could almost call this an indie-arthouse production because it certainly appears as such. One glance at the production crew and you quickly realise that a lot of artistry is involved in this production.
Another interesting aspect is that this film features behind-the-scenes technicalities involved in a film production, albeit at the novice level performed by highschool students. It kind of reminds me a little bit of Super 8 but minus the aliens and with a bit more finesse by a slightly older cast. Itou Marika dazzles as the lead as well.
Goodness, you are really ripping through these JFF works quickly, and seems you are enjoying most of them too…
Hehe, I would've preferred to take my sweet time but unfortunately the festival will end soon so there's a bit of time constraint ๐ You're right, I've enjoyed most of what I've watched so far and it's been a truly fulfilling experience indeed! ๐ฅฐ
It's like reading my own thoughts, just in a more eloquent way. ๐คฃ I honestly didn't have the words to describe…
Glad we share the same thoughts on such a wonderful production. I had a really good time overall and have learned so much from just the one film! I wish we could have more films like this one ๐ฅฐ I should really start calling you my twin now ๐คญ๐
