I am quite concerned about the fact that there are no subs yet. There's no way that the subbing will stop right?
I know how you feel. Hate it when a show that's currently airing has subtitle issues and you've got to wait for new episodes that can't appear soon enough.
Which is why I'm putting this show on hold first till it airs midway to three quarters, then I'll pick it up.
Its very quickly turned into the best show I am currently watching.
Truth be told, Qing era is not my cup of tea. Having said that, some pretty good shows are set during this time period,so I guess I can live with that.
The ML looks good half bald anyway, compared to most folks. In a funny kind of way, it's like Jet Li who actually looks better without hair...
I really sorry if I'm asking out of topic, can you give me recommend series that similar with the song of glory…
Agree with the recommendations below. If you're in it for the fighting, Heroes (2020), and the Condor series (2017 and 2019). I haven't yet watched but from what I saw of the trailer for Love In Between, looks pretty decent as well.
If you're looking for strong female leads who can kick ass, again as mentioned, Princess Agents, Fuyao and The Legends (but heavy use of CGI). The others that are currently airing I haven't started watching yet so can't really say for now.
Do bear in mind, if you're not a fan of CGI, I guess you probably should steer clear of xianxia (supernatural, deities, fairies) and stick to pure wuxia (kungfu, jianghu, wulin).
Just started watching, in between others. Partly also because I'm a fan of Allen.
I'm a little confused with the plot, tbh. The fight scenes are not bad actually, and the visuals are generally pretty good. But I'm not really feeling it...
Not sure if I'll persist, judging from most of the earlier comments as well. And I think I still prefer Allen in sombre mode, much like his other shows.
Anyway, let's put this on hold first and see if it picks up later on.
Pretty light hearted romance drama. Seems like we're seeing a lot of Yukee lately.
Couldn't help but wonder whether he's naturally like this in real life or if it's the director's instruction, but the ML here appears.... robotic. Its almost like watching a puppet being manipulated on screen.
Aaah okay this drama is exhausting me emotionally....I feel like I'm in an off-balance pendulum.Anyone care to…
I know how you feel. This drama is so intense that a short break every 3 or 4 episodes would do us all a world of good. Probably.
Ness has given a pretty comprehensive list. I'm not sure what else to recommend except maybe watch some variety shows. Every drama, no matter how light hearted, will still contain some drama. So watching a no brainer like some Running Man or Survivor show might just help you ease some stress.
Alternatively, watch some horror to scare off the emotional baggage :D
yeah, totally agree. i think the fight scenes in this drama are executed very well and isn't just the average…
Hear hear!
The fight scenes alone is worth a 10 out of 10.
30 - 36 really picks up, I agree. The plot got a bit tired up prior to that, probably due to waiting for the leads to literally wake up from their various stages of induced slumber.
What I love about this drama is the excellent cast. I also like that more mature actors are playing the main roles.…
Yes, the cast is really impressive and they make this drama a superb production.
Li Qin is a great actress, I've seen her portraying a (semi) villain/ antagonist in Princess Agents and I thought she really stood out there. In Jade Dynasty, the role she portrayed is quite similar to her role here (as a swordswoman, not in a main role of protagonist).
Qin Hao is a pleasant surprise and revelation to me, because I'm not familiar with his works. His looks and portrayal really befits his role here.
The supporting cast such as the experienced Eddie Cheung from HK, veteran Deng Ying and younger actors like Jason Koo, just to name a few, have added strength to the drama as well.
Overall, I would rate this as one of the best dramas for 2020, if not the past few years.

Hope it helps.
The only problem I had was that it was too short.
Probably could have had more character development and expanded on the plot twist at the end.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted :)
Yup, oh well.

Not sure why that is, hmmm....
From the first look, this seems like a serious and intense show. The opening credits already highlighted as much.
Noticed some familiar faces of kung fu veterans here. This definitely goes into my watch list.
Then again, most people don't and they usually happen to land into a cave filled with long lost martial arts manuals.
But yeah, hopefully she gets her comeuppance eventually.

Can't wait for 37 onwards.
