POJ has been the best drama so far and will definitely be one of the best this year. Having said that, I think this was a female centric drama even if they didn't say so. Since EP 1, it has all been Changyu gracing the screen with all her talents. Taking charge of her family and the people of Lin'an. She's been protecting her matrilocal husband, Yan Zheng and he would only come in to help at the very last minute. Moving to the battlefield, she's still the one taking the screen. She even drugged her husband not knowing who he is and what responsibility he carries, that was okay cuz she had no idea. My only complaint is when she knocked out Lord Li Wenkan. Even though she didn't know the rules, it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Fighters would rather die on the battlefield than leave the battlefield. Li waking up to the passing away of his master was more painful than anything. Let's admit she was wrong. No excuse can make it right.
On the other hand, Marquis of Wu'an has done very little to the story. There's little to nothing in his character development. He was better off as a matrilocal husband than Marquis of Wu'an. Don't come for me. I loved Yan Zheng but I hardly see what Xie Jiuheng is doing even in the novel, it was centred around Chengyu
I get the the trustworthy 'bring him home to your family' vibe from him tho. I never cared for his other dramas, usually I just watched them out of anticipation (still finished them😀) but i guess POJ hit the big time and clean up his other characters lol.
