I just finished and was wondering if any novel readers could answer what happened to the little girl Bua? I was able to understand that she was Chaba's daughter/Bom's sister, but how did she die? Was her spirit also being controlled by Atikun like her mom? Thup mentioned in episode 2 that he saw Bua on the second story balcony and it looked like she wanted to say something to him, but they never really came back to that or her story, unless I completely missed it.
Also, was there more information on Singha's sister, Maysa? Was there any reason why she was killed/lured to her death by a spirit? Was she just targeted because she could see them like Thup?
can someone please enlighten me (ep 11 spoiler)first of all old Xun was supposed to be in his early 50s right?…
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the director say the actor for older Yixun was picked because his facial structure was similar to Zhou Yiran. The older actor is 67 so he's not that far off from how old Yixun is supposed to be tbh. Some people just age differently and it makes sense to me that Yixun would look like he aged faster. He spent his life doing hard labor in harsh conditions, but also the regret and guilt he must have felt about Haitang, especially during his birthday every year, probably weighed heavily on him. And also he had Alzheimer's and heart issues as well. In the first ep, Yu Nian tells the landlord her dad has heart issues and is on medication for it (which could've been a lie to keep the landlord off their backs, but Yixun was definitely on medication. Either for his heart, Alzheimer's, or both). He went missing on the 8th and was found in critical condition at the cemetery because he refused to leave until he saw Haitang. Shen Cheng's letter before Yixun was found was the 17th, so Yixun had been waiting at the cemetery for at least a week without medication or anyone to care for him before he went back to the cemetery to pass away.
For Haitang's death, we don't know enough about what happened after she drives off with Yibo. Both of them drowned, but Haitang's body had signs of a struggle. So she could've killed him and then herself, killed him and died in the process, or he could've killed her and himself. We can only really theorize about it
And no they never reunited in the first timeline :( only in death
Hmmmm....questions...1. How can Yu Nian remember Shen Cheng when he was never born? Does that mean even the watchman,…
1. Personally, I believe Shen Cheng was adopted from the orphanage Haitang worked at because he reminded her of Yixun/his situation. He was alive in the end, so he was not Haitang's biological son. 2. After her grandma passes, I'm sure Yu Nian was probably put in the system and adopted or fostered, so I don't think she would've been completely alone. 3. Haitang told Yixun that school was the only place she could be seen as a normal person. Even if Tan could've helped her, I doubt Haitang would've taken that risk. Yibo would've ended up coming to the school and that was Haitang's only safe space. She was let down too many times when trying to get help, so her only hope at that point was finishing school without any trouble and leaving town. 4. Yibo dug up his wife's remains and clothing and put them in a bag to get rid of them discreetly since they would've been discovered if he didn't move them. 5. I've seen some people say Haitang killed Yibo and then herself. But personally, I think she drowned Yibo and lost her life in the process. I just can't see Haitang killing herself without saying goodbye to Yixun's grave one more time on his birthday, especially since she was already on the way with his cake, and saying goodbye to her son. 6. I don't think we know enough about that, but I wouldn't be surprised if Yixun kept some stationery from the store Haitang worked at and kept them in the cookie tin all those years.
I think FL may not be the biological mother of shen cheng . Chubby guy and FL's female classmate friend are likely…
I agree with your points! I enjoy these types of dramas too. The writers gave us just enough info to come up with a bunch of theories, but not enough to fully confirm any of them. Personally, I am a believer that Haitang adopted Shen Cheng from the orphanage she worked at. Most likely because he reminded her of Yixun/his situation. I think that if she really did get married then it would've been to Shen Xiaojun, but it was purely for her son's sake so that he could have a family. The Shen family owed her (and Yixun) for saving Xiaojun's life and Haitang's mother saved Shen Da Shan and was his friend. He told Haitang and Yixun a couple times to come to him if they ever needed anything or were in trouble, so it makes sense to me for the Shen family to take Shen Cheng into their family to return the favor. To me, the scenes they showed us of Haitang at the orphanage and Shen's father telling Haitang they were family were clues about Shen Cheng. But like you said the writers did all this to leave it open for interpretation, so we'll never know for sure.
Shen Cheng being at the end didn't really feel like it could be interpreted differently to me as you can tell it's the same actor from the body type and the same watch he wore the whole show. But I guess if people want to interpret the story so that it's not Shen Cheng and that he sacrificed his existence for his mother then that's valid too ðŸ˜

Shen Cheng was alive at the end though, so that means he wasn't Haitang's biological son. He was the one who opened the mailbox at the end and received Haitang and Yixun's last letter. When Yu Nian looks for his contact in her phone, she doesn't find it because he's probably no longer a Shen. He would most likely have a different surname/phone number in the altered timeline
I still don’t understand. Who is shen cheng’s father? Why he can appear in future and take the letter? Someone…
It was never said who Shen Cheng's father was, but since Shen Cheng was alive at the very end it means he wasn't Haitang's biological son. Personally, I think Haitang might have adopted him from the orphanage and then married Shen Xiaojun so that Shen Cheng could have a family. The Shen family owed her for saving Xiaojun, so I think maybe the marriage was purely for her son's sake. But we don't know enough to truly know ðŸ˜
They did say goodbye, but Yin and War have also said the ending is open for continuation if an investor decides…
Yes, so a lot of this year they will be doing jobs or selling merch to pay off that debt~ I hope they continue also but seems like it's in the investors' hands right now! Hopefully investors see positive fan reaction and decide to take on the project
I've read on X that YinWar mentioned it's they are saying goodbye to Jack and Joke... I know I shouldn't trust…
They did say goodbye, but Yin and War have also said the ending is open for continuation if an investor decides to buy it. It entirely depends on fan reaction and if the investors think it's worth it. ywpb can't afford to do s2 or more special eps especially since they are most likely still in debt from s1. From the way Yin and War are acting and some tweets from their managers, fans think something is in the works though so we just gotta hope for good news soon~
It does feel a little passive aggressive doesn't it? Don't they have a song making fun of the fans shipping them?…
Sorry for intruding and for the long comment :') but just wanted to mention if you're talking about their song Sincere Friends, they aren't making fun of their fans? They've never said anything like that. If some fans watch the story in the MV and interpret it that way then that's one thing, but they've never said that was their intent
The lyrics of the song imply that Yin and War's characters within the story both have feelings for each other but think the other sees them as a friend, so they remain sincere friends. War explained that sincere friends means their behavior is more than friends/they do everything that lovers do, but their status is still just friends for now. War said himself that all their songs have this ambiguous relationship. So just wanted to clear up that the song wasn't made to make fun of shippers. It just a light hearted song that fits in with their other songs where Yin and War have this type of relationship
I guess we won't know for sure until the director or someone else confirms it , but fans are saying that the wedding was a Chinese ghost marriage. The standee with Joke's face was actually a paper doll for the ghost marriage. These marriages can be for the deceased so they won't be lonely in the afterlife and also way for the living to grieve. Jack really wanted to marry Joke even if it was their souls getting married :(
Anyway, I cried a lot even though I skipped to see the scene after the credits before watching lmao. Yin and War's acting is crazy good, but I do hope they never work with this director/team again

They mentioned their debt back in October on this show btw:
