Is it at least half good as Something in the Rain? If it is, I will give it a chance..
Less Hanky Panky, but similar plot points almost 1 for 1.

I'm so excited!! Rosy studio weibo confirmed both our leads lusi and yuxi will both be in the making of 2nd season…
I went digging and I can't find it.

The official WeTV English announced a possibility back in August of 2020. Zhao Lusi's official account translated on twitter doesn't mention it, though there is a celebration of her in historical dramas from WeTV.

But I can't see anything beyond that ATM.

I can't seem to verify the claim on weibo either.

Better than Eternal Love indeed! The other title is more interesting for me which is "The Parting of Orchid and…
Why can't they come up with other terms for Eternal, like Love to Infinity, Everlasting Love, Immortal Romance, Neverending Love, Timeless Love. IQiyi needs to meet a thesaurus.

Is there a place that exists where this show has good subs AND good sound quality? T . T I tried watching it on…
If sound is good on one, but not the images, and the images are bad on one, but the sound is good, I've pulled off the trick of using double tabs silencing one, and then cuing up the other screen so I can watch it. Takes a bit of effort, but is often worth it.

I love this drama from the start :D
In the qichengzhuanhe, the cheng part of the drama doesn't happen until about episode 12, but a lot of Chinese dramas have the qi over by episode 6-ish. And some people are really impatient being spoiled on Hollywood and English-language media to have that sort of set up for the 5-act inciting incident to be as quick as possible. (Technical speak) But yeah, that's why I'm saying wait it out. The "introduction" section of the qichengzhuanhe structure takes longer than usual.
On Legally Romance Apr 2, 2022
This drama has a slow pitch. It doesn't really warm up until about episode 13--and I realize that's a really long time to wait with Chinese dramas, but it will pay off. So I beg people to give it a chance to get there, but it gains steam over time. Having low expectations of this drama at first, honestly, I thought it would be back burner type. But it slowly grew from back burner to midburner to sizzling. If you quit at before episode 13, you're missing things, but the way the story is set up, you need episode 1-13 to understand the action, so please, please be patient.

Title The Autumn Ballad Spoiler
He does. ..Remember his assistant said there were 2 keys originally and just needed to find the 2nd one in the…
Episode 3 establishes the Qiu Yan's reputation is ruined. This is doubled up by the servant characters in episode 4, when he's chatting about the origin of the fan.

Episode 4, Qiu Yan tells Liang Yi, she hates him, because he lets her believe he has send the girl and the guy to prison without punishing the others. Liang Yi is taken aback, because he thinks she doesn't know him. Liang Yi is invited to the palace and the Empress gives him a choice. Liang Yi pauses a really long time on Qiu Yan, but quickly turns the page after realizing he can't have her to her sister and flatly declares he wants her sister. This is clearly against his own wishes.

The servant then goes on about why this is a good choice over Qiu Yan, which is what OTHER people will think about Liang Yi. But it's clear this isn't what Liang Yi, himself, thinks.

Episode 5, Liang Yi, tips to the audience that he also knows the girl when he recognizes the fan. He's been delaying from indications getting married to find her. He runs to Qiu Jin, and thinks that Qiu Jin is the girl, until she speaks to him. Then he drops a line about how she is NOTHING like the girl he remembers and calls the girl from him memory, willful, stubborn, etc. He then tells the servant he's going to delay the proposal. He then keeps calling Qiu Yan willful, and stubborn, but SMILING and trying to stay neutral about it.

He obviously manipulated the board a bit to try to get Qiu Yan to come to him about the game, or already guessed she'd have to. At the game, he flat out tells her he's pursuing her and only got close to her sister in order to be closer to her, because remember, she declared, she hated him. He indicates several times that he knows she's the girl from his memories. "You shouldn't discard gifts from people you don't like", but she doesn't listen to him. He declares war on his bestie when she's out of range saying she's out of his league and he shouldn't even try. She bests him several times during the game and he's clearly, clearly pleased.

In Episode 12, BTW, there are two sets of flashbacks from him on why he likes her, and they go back to episode 2-3, when she lectures him on the differences between men and women. By episode 12, they are declaring, "You've changed" which is past the other Chinese rom com stages of "Fighting it" "Surrendering to love" "Making a plan." And then the last stage is someone declaring that the hero or heroine has changed.

They show he made a plan when he took her to the boat to try to get her to like him. Because he's in a position of power, as she rightly points out to declare he likes any woman he wants and then marry her by force. He thinks she hates him, so works out a way to try to get his way. She admits she doesn't like her cousin on the boat, which gets a reaction from him. He's pleased, but trying to hide it, at the same time as trying to turn things around so she admits she likes him.

When he's watching her, later, try to plot to get her cousin to marry her, he's wholly amused by the whole thing, because he's 100% sure he can win her over and her cousin has no chance. If he wasn't into her, that's not the emotions he should have, he'd be annoyed, interceding for his best friend. But instead, he watches cooly, already figuring out what she's done and why she's done it, because he said he wanted to watch what she would do. And when she shows him, he's floored and admiring her for it. But he still calls her out on her behavior (next scene).

And then I think he knew she would solve the task of the fake money and set her on a path of finding him again, which is why he notified her father.

He's done his best, also to clear any competitor, though subtly. He helped with the money laundering and notifying, because he knew she would use that to get out of the marriage and ask for her own freedom. He used the handcuffs and refused to give the key several times because he knew it would be a public display. And he's been steadily hinting at her that he remembers their past. "When did you see blood?" And smiling every time she out smarts him. He's been needling her to admit it. But when she wouldn't admit it, he gave her large broad clue, a little tired that she wouldn't give it up, but he's equally too proud to admit he knows who she is.

So no, he didn't mistake Qiu Min for her. Every line after he meets Qiu Min has shown he knows the identity of the girl, but he's been trying to get Qiu Yan to admit it at every turn and then her feelings for him. Such as, "You must be a regular at these places" Episode 9, which makes him go, "What," and then SMILE, because he knows she's jealous. If he didn't like her, why stare after her and SMILE? He'd be indignant and declare that's not what the Firewood officers do.

If that's not a man smitten, then I don't understand rom coms well.

I still hold he realized he had feelings for her in episode 4... and then Episode 5 cemented my feelings about that. As for the reasons why he didn't openly pursue her, episode 3 and 4 tells you why.

Title Reset
The ending is kinda lacking.
You should learn to enjoy result over conclusion... More East Asian dramas are "result" not conclusion. A lot of USian dramas are addicted to super closed conclusion due to the story structures. USian dramas are the worst in the world for being addicted to endings over the journey.

ep 4 haha
There are strong indications he knows in Episode 3. For example, when they fall down together, he's not that disturbed by his attraction to (him). He also in Chinese doesn't really use pronouns. And then there is a flashback on the roof that he saw her ears were pierced and put it together then.

Title Sassy Beauty
Female is strong or weak
Sassy, not quite always clever, but her arrogance leads to punishment, her patience and diligence leads to character growth. I haven't gotten far enough to know if she completely melts, though. I don't think she evaporates.

She realized that the things done by 2ML in past were not actually done by him. The birthday noodles. Birthday…
Nyahh, his behavior was stalkery and abusive. He gaslights her. The fans call that romantic. He stalked her for years the fans call that romantic. She falls for him, and without her consent, he erases her memory and the fans call that romantic. It's not about him being "perfect" It's about people ignoring his abusive behavior because a pretty actor is playing him. And I'm not saying the acting was terrible. But the writing on the characters was. They promised all this gained agency on the FL in the front and then repeatedly stole it from her and still called that romantic.

Li Ming Shi, the male lead.
Yes, but feels a bit unresolved. It's where she sets things right, and take a bit to figure out through non-textual evidence, but it's more of a result than a conclusion.

Except he's so manipulative in this drama in a lot of unacceptable ways. I've seen this set up without all of the questionable behavior... but I keep seeing comments on YouTube about how romantic it all is, and I don't get it.

Title The Only You Spoiler
what's wrong with the extra scene after the ending? what's it really mean?
Voice over says: "Remember your name is Chen Yu who lives by the sea and runs a flower shop. If you don't bring Le Zhen Xi out into consciousness, you will never get married. But there are side effects. You will forget all this."

So her fantasy of seeing her heartbeat over her head in the drama was false. What really likely happened, was that he comforted her on her fake wedding and they fell for each other then, and then had a romance, he proposed, but on the day of their wedding, she got into an accident with him. So he went under an experiment to get her out of the coma, but the cost is that he'd forget his love. But if he goes in they will reset and forget everything.
