I find it funny as I've been getting into Cdramas and my Chinese friend told me they didn't get why I would because…
I totally understand you. I've shifted into cdramas since 2018/19 when it has become too mainstream -- to the point that it does conform to the global taste more than how it is organic and more "Korean".
Some people may not appreciate the censorship that's been controlling c-media and may even say it's too much (at some point, yes) but most of the time, it's actually protecting the culture, the viewers, and the general public.
Yes, there are ratings, we can tell kids are not allowed to watch this and that or be careful of certain genres, but they're all released publicly after all. No such advisory/disclaimer/caution can filter who gets to see the content. So keeping it at a generally acceptable/socially sensible level is so much more wholesome and safer for everyone to watch.
For the cameos: 1. Director Xu (the Director of the Qing Dynasty drama they're filming) is the writer friend/role in Horizon Tower 2. Boss Zhu (the lady boss who were in a meeting with Xia Meng and Wang Jichong's team where Wang Jichong proved a point and Xia Meng supported him) - she is the foster parent for Zhong Mei Bao and her brother in Horizon Tower 3. Boss Zhang (the lady boss for the black wedding dress event who approved Fang Xin's proposal) - Zhong Mei Bao's mother in Horizon Tower 4. The Female Doctor (Baby Zhang - a cameo role during the wedding dress event, the one whose husband doctor died during the pandemic) - One of the residents of Horizon Tower, one of the main characters as well. 5. Child Actress Wang Shengdi/Jiang Shanmu's child - played as Zhong Mei Bao's young version.
Who else cried so much in the last episode? Plus, the drama's director is REALLY GREAT. Apart from this drama, I've watched A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower and Moonshine and Valentine and both dramas are great in terms of storytelling. This director is REALLY really awesome. <3 He used a lot of faces from Horizon Tower as cameo roles as well. haha! Nice nice.
Hi, I'm just going to post this here as a PSA. I'm seeing that the subs I'm working on with another MDL user are…
Thank you very much! Hope you continue subbing this. I'll wait til it gets fully subbed because I really tend to binge watch stuff and I've been looking forward to watching this. ♥
Agree with most of your points. Song Yi's character did mature towards the end, though. When the older brother…
Correct :) He couldn't have coordinated it all in one go. His connection with the Clan was never explained further. Maybe if they can give another episode and cap it at 40, it would tie some loose ends.
She does villain roles a lot and she's quite good at doing it. Saw her in Ruyi, The Rebel Princess, and Luoyang. Her Luoyang role is her best among the 3.
Agreed with you on this drama deserving a higher rating! 👏🏻Agreed with @XINwei below on how LR did mature…
Totally agree with you on her being clingy but not the jealous type! And yes, understandable considering her age and status. ^^ Thoroughly enjoyed everything.
Seems like barely anyone's watching this, but then again it got zero promo.I'm really enjoying it, the corporate…
Going to start this today! I was surprised they aired it in December, I thought this was originally slated for January when all the hype from big S+ dramas (Sword Snow Stride, Luoyang, etc.) gets watered down.
