The rating is only fan based. Story wise acting wise it was dud. Specially the dude...he is always the same no matter what series. And when he laughs he becomes a completely different. That is why I think he rearly laugh and many drama has him in serious and cold but kind hearted roles.
Son Ye Jin and Jung Hai In, as if age has stopped on them. One in her 40s and other in his mid 30s, looks as if they have just turn 20. Acting at it finest, and brave are people who go beyond and above to do something people don;'t agree with. Jisoo, could have refused the show, as this was her first project, could have ruined her, and she is fantastic in it, for a new actor she is pretty fine. People hating her for no reason are the worst kind of people.ps. I am not Blackpink fan and not hers as well
Back in 1980, Korea had a dictatorship and the government was Fifth Republic. Students mostly used to protest…
I wouldn't call it fair elections, as the person was chosen by the dictator as well, but the concern was to end dictatorship, so Korean people accepted him.
Can someone explain what actually happened at that time period in brief…Every ones commenting there was something…
Back in 1980, Korea had a dictatorship and the government was Fifth Republic.
Students mostly used to protest from 1970s to 1980s for a democratic government, but the dictator at that time, used North Kore as a bait to incite public and to win elections.
The government at that time used to say that protestors were North Korean spies and not actual students, and National Intelligence used to control, murder, and do all types of crimes. In 1980s there was a massacre on hands of government, and after 7 years, in 1987 the events led the Korea to to be democratic, though the president was also the person chosen by dictator, but the elections were held none the less, thus ending Fifth republic . Also, in in 1980s Olympic were held in Korea, and a whole plane was bombed, just before the inaugural ceremony, and NK took the responsibility, that gave government more reason to carry out illegal activities against pro-democratic movement.
This depicts such background, because, SK says that it glorifies National Intelligence to commit crimes in name of country, when it was their struggle for freedom, and not some NK agenda happening as government claimed at that time.
Thats why huge backlash of showing that a NK agent infiltrating and NIS doing dirty work, proves that it was really the case as government claimed back then, thus claiming distorting the reality.
Previews are always hocks... Don't worry...we all not even a 0.000000 % chance he is gonna like her or even date her. And she didn't kissed him...I am sure it was something else. Regarding her confession it was gonna happen.
the series has absolutely become garbage. I mean what the fuck second male is, can nobody control him? wasted six episodes on him, and I am sure he isn't getting any proper punishment.
Why Why NJ have to mess whit the leads... drama should have the second lead have their own romance instead...
Don't worry she will not mess. She is just bored. A little misschivious but not ugly bad. She knows she does stand a chance. And she is also having fun.
I am sure her grandma is her imagination. As she never talks about her outside and no one ask her as well. Even the best friends they must have known about her grandmother if she was a person or alive.
Such a sad past she has. And the moment we will be shown that it is her imagination my heart gonna break.
Also beacuse of her alone she has built a wall against her not let anyone hurt her. And she uses her grandma as a shield or reminder that she has to be strong and she has no one and through her grandmother it is in her blood not to let anyone wlak down on her or let her guard down. It is a sign of broken person who appears to be strong.
Thanks for mentioning the translation! I noticed that the writing is particularly good in this series, but didn't…
Netflix has the original production to provide the translators, and it is written in the contracts. So when Netflix buy production rights, not just airing rights, the translators comes with it, and all work is done online.
As this show is among its international distribution list, the translators comes with it as well.
All native people translates and Netflix has its written in their contracts for original production to provide this service.
It would be a huge surprise and pleasant change if they won’t have them together in the end. And in some way, it is better.
But there is a high chance that they will end up together, why, because they haven’t even started yet, what happened 5 years ago, are not part of a screen, what’s happening now is there first time for us, so without having them together for viewers, the story will have no meaning. Thought it will be surprise change.
Besides, for five years of they haven’t dated anyone, it is obvious they will be together. Though this time they will have to cross real hurdles to get to each other. The harder the hurdles, stronger the bond.
I cannot imagine other way, the Idol singer is simply bored as her life has been about camera, and she doesn’t have real joys of life, and as she is used to having everything, and seeing how he can’t get the ML flutter is intriguing for her, not love. She will not turn evil either, and I hope she doesn’t.
The writer has written some very meaningful lines, and the thanks to the translator of this show they have done a really good job, translating into equally meaning lines. As some of the Korean I can see is not what the English meaning is, but it fits the best and I like it more. I remember, how in Run-On, she loved her job translating films and series, and through that series, I really came to know, translating is hard and meaningful job. It is just not words-to-words translation, it requires proper understanding, communication and background story to rewrite the conversation with same sentiments and warmth.
The director has already warned Ungi, who he should be careful of, if he is really need Yeon Soo back in his life.
I can’t wait this long to binge-watch, so I am watching it weekly. I am this desperate.
I just hope the Idol doesn’t litter much, in fact she should act as a catalyst.
It was indeed very good...
I have a feeling that she is a real spy and not the other way around. She is infiltrating via Tae ill. I highly doubt she is a protestor.
A real fighter is ISH, he is not a spy at all. He is from the other side, but he is not what is appearing to be.
I would very much like this series to end with death of any one of two lead characters, otherwise this series won't make any senses.
Production error: in ep 2 when he was wearing a shirt, it was paint, as the shirt was soaked blood from the inside... lol.

Love love love both leads.
It's time for Ungi to help her let her guard down.
He failed to help her open to him and she failed to show her trueseld.
And by doing so...Just like that the love they had fainted away.
That was the reason.
And now they are come back...I think they should start showing their vulnerable selves to eachother and thats the only way it is going to heal them.
But I am going to completes, but story wise its meh...
Wayu is like a princess to all boys, they want to protect him, feed him, fight for him, how come I never had such friends.
