People who are lamenting, people who think because of love story depiction, our perspective my change, then let me tell you something, what has gone down in history will never change.
Innocent, people who were murdered and were conspired regardless of their origin are human, the basic thing we can do is acknowledged that every life matter.
The matter between South and North, isn’t the only conflict exist in history, Palestine-Israel, Pak-India, Azerbaijan-Armenia, US-Iran-Russia, China-Japan these are the countries are always on brink of war, with spies going in and out every day, every second. So North-Korea is not special, and not alone.
If true this series depicts the few fumes of June Struggle of Korean people that ended Fifth Republic, end of dictatorship. Also, the same ruling government was responsible for horrific event of May 17, 7 years prior to June Struggle of 1987. So, it wasn’t just small cases, road to freedom can only be constructed with blood, that’s what the human has always done.
I understand SK people sentiments and their struggle, but you are saying if a tv series distorting history is not true at all. All type of sensitive issues exists in our lives, just because you this is wrong, doesn’t actually make it wrong, and same goes for otherwise.
All the SK people here, I respect you, and I understand you, but if you think a series can change our minds, so I want to say NO. At this moment this series is all about speculation, what’s going on we will get to know more later.
Two factors of this series are used that are true and based on history, opposition against the Fifth Republic, and them using NK to incite South Korean people. In the June Struggle, there are many hidden background stories exist that we don’t know about. And we will never know. This is one those stories that has come to light and it is depicted, in my faith as such. As creator of this series must have had people in mind and their concerns, after all, it is made for people and if they don’t watch it, then there is no purpose at all.
why do people who watch kdramas care so much about acting?? i've never seen comments like this under any american…
I like to think of them, haters.
She was splendid in it, not a single scene she was not in, I didn't felt electricity.
Given this is her first job as an actor may be true but wrong as well...being an Idol, is a biggest acting job there is.
You don't need any master class or Juilliard School to prove your acting. In my opinion, when you are an Idol, like super doper famous, apart from singing, your job is acting. So she has ton of experience.
those who now use they and them instead of he and she, and those who say everything in name of freedom of speech, will never know what true freedom is.
everyone fight for something in their lives regardless of era, but true oppression comes from the ruler of time. you can fight anything, but when you have to fight for truth that can liberate others, human turns on you.
i am afraid of no one in this plant, except but humans, for who they are the greatest and vicious animals inhabiting this planet.
yes yes yes... it pulls you in, this drama is totally on the leads shoulder, other characters won't matter at…
It is not toxic at all, he is a fool, he is just angry because of a misunderstanding. In fact he is always afraid of her, he loves her too much, but at moment, they have met after 5 years so it is starting off by bickering of course, but he wasn't toxic, he is just fool and take things for granted, but he is honest, straightforward and doesn't overthink.
that is why it is called criminal justice. in all three adaptations, ending was like that. after sentencing, he…
you should American version, it has more in depth in story of character and his personal growth during his time in jail, and female prosecutor did showed a little remorse before dropping the case.
F%ck this shit...amazing, you can't tell this is Ji So first drama, she is pro, and literally had me at first scene. JHI and JS, the fact that they have 7 years age difference, JHI is blessed like Son Yi Jin, who despite their ages looks in their 20s.
Both actors are drop dead gorgeous. I am ready for many blood boiling and heart breaking moments, but the series itself is awesome, it is grand version of Youth of May.
Give this show a chance, and please do not speculate and suddenly become this historical critics out of no where, when it is not required at all.
Show has passed all the screening and censor process that there is in the nation, so cut it some slack.
Jung Hae In, is nations one of the best actors, his emotional range and versatility needs no introduction. I fell in love with him with Something In the Rain, One Spring Night and have watched all of his works, and this dude hasn't given a single bad performance.
Also lets support Kim Ji Soo, as this will be her first feature drama, and give her a chance if you think she needs improvement, rather lamenting her.
Let's support this, and start this painful journey to see if it has a sad ending, happy ending or open ending.
I mean they could have asked one question in court but they didn't aksed.
His lawyer should have raised this question, "what was his motive?" All other suspects had motive except but him... But nobody raised this question. Atleast this should have set the proceeding in order atleast if not that helpful.
They kee saying he is the killer...But they failed to question his motive.
This is almost near American version and not UK one.

Also, since when it is the rule that rookie actress start from minor role.
She had me at first scene, I am not BLACKPINK fan or her, but she is not bad at acting, she is good if not best.
Also, this show is not just about them, all other characters are equally shinning.
She was splendid in it, not a single scene she was not in, I didn't felt electricity.

The hostel setting is really dreamy. I wish in real life such hostels exist.
Both actors are drop dead gorgeous. I am ready for many blood boiling and heart breaking moments, but the series itself is awesome, it is grand version of Youth of May.
in all three adaptations, ending was like that.
after sentencing, he only get to walk free, there was no honorable incarceration.

Pretty faces, strong acting and grand production.

And do not expect honorable incarceration. The full justice is never served. He is just able to walk free.
