I said this when first epaiode aired. It was unnecessary anyway. Writer and production must have discussed before including it that it can cause controversy but they still added it.
So far it is going really good. I like magical (fantasy) historical drama rather the serious political stuff. In magic you can tweak things even if they are going wrong and you don't go by the book or accuracy because from start you know it is fantasy and anything can heapen. Very satisfied with this series so far.
Let me tell, as long as AR will do romantic drama, the comment section will be filled with this topic.
He should not do romantic genre at all. I respect his decision, he should respect our as well. As a viewer I am not satisfied. Sorry.
We are not asking some 18+ stuff, but the camera cuts them off, only shadow is shown, one kiss in car, I hardly count it as Kiss, and then someone they had limited intimacy in 15 and 16. So I am no longer expecting anything, just 2 good looking actor doing their job, with reasonable story. Thats all.
I really like this drama. I also watched You are My Hero and they barely had intimacy but the couple's chemistry…
It is not about r-rated or intimate scenes, a romantic story without kissing is fine, when you know the actor didn't requested. I hope you understand this point.
When a story is written where the "yearning" is concern I feel more connected than a skins-hip. But here it is very very obvious that while hugging and even touch seems superficial.
And we do not expect like it western shows, but you also can't say that each love story should only be yearning, or pure love. Thats not how it works.
And the western shows you despise, they are good as well, they do have explicit shows, and they also good romantic shows where "romantic" genre is justified.
And Chinese, Japanese, Korean, sure like other Asian countries are still family oriented but it is not restricted or projected anymore. You can have intimacy with family traditions intact.
Every TV series is not about, unrequited love, pure love or chemistry without skin-ship. People will stop watching then. And you can not call such viewers superficial as well, you have to justify or from the start should make it clear.

I have said this before, that good romantic story is not a story without intimacy. We are not requesting R-rated scenes, a good intimacy that is a normal part of any drama. But no, they won't listen or understand my point of view.
There are so many scenes that we are left unsatisfied with. The bed scene where she hugged him drunk, should have been a kiss scene, I am sure if it was an other actor, we would have already had at least 10 kisses. Even if they have just met or started to love. each-other.
I feel more chemistry with his little brother and her czn, then I see between, SY and ZSC.
