The reason the first part of the story didn’t make sense was because we were actually watching the twisted memory…
I mean it is a twist for sure after EP. 10. But I failed t understand why people become so socked after 10 episodes. It becomes clear before the episode 10 cliffhanger that what was a story. Each episode was sad, those moments were even sadder, I knew from the beginning, the aloof brother, heir innocent friendship and her guilt and pain was all part of her story.
I cherished the series each sec, their poorness, their dreams, their struggles, and her love that stopped coming home suddenly, left her in utter shock that she forgot how to give love and turned her into stone.
The way writer wrote it, it was the only way for a character to redeem herself, before leaving to reunite the person she was waiting for, for 50 years and thats a long period of waiting.
If I have someone I loved for a long long time, and came to knew that they were being cheated, I would do the same, what ML did. Period.
People are amazing! Bashing ML from first episode that he is obsessive, stalker and not giving space. I hate double standards.
What he did was to avoid the shame and pain she would have endured later, as the son of a bitch is going to marry and the girl would simply be labeled as adulterer and home wrecker for the crime she never committed...
Nobody is blaming the SFL, what she did to keep the SML, it is a crime, that unfortunately is not punishable by law.
When cliticising someone you think is not right, is your opinion and all opinions are valid, as long as they don't turn into hateful speech. And we as a human, are always quick to jump to conclusions, decisions and opinions, and then we regret it.
Know the story of each person before you make a judgment. Everyone wants validation. Everyone wants to be listened.
From the reviews and the comments, I take it that this drama is bad. Shame since I like both SYE and OSW.
Follow your instinct. Its not bad at all, what problematic is the love triangle, that is basic in each drama. The direction, lines, scenes and writing is awesome. it just too tiring to watch the same thing and getting heart ache for nothing.
You can watch it, but you will not feel SL syndrome, because he does somethings that makes you not either hate or love him. On the other hand, ML was not cold to FL at all, he was talkative and chatty but he had issues showing his emotions. So you won't feel, ML being bad, as comments shows.
The biggest issue I had was with second couple, her boyfriend was so caring and understanding and considerate, but out of her own guilt of being poor and looked down upon always, she choose not to communicate with her golden boy. That drifted them apart because of a girl mistake, but in the end they were able to make it, and so does other couples.
You should give it a try. But you are responsible for your own emotions.
Actually what happens is, some scenes are deliberately cutt off and later be released in film version, for Wish…
You took words from my mouth... when I watched Your Name... it felt cut out and somethings weren't proper.... and it pissed me off... as much as it was a beautiful film, I could feel that editing isn't making any sense and at many scenes it was rushed. It was inches away from matching a standard of Call Me By Your Name, but it was short on technical aspects. The story and actors had no fault in it.
I thought I was the only one feeling it, but apparently when they have cut scenes, they couldn't streamline the editing.
Also, directors cut is always there (as you also said) because lots of footage and scenes gets wasted in post production, and is not included in final cut because of many restraints. But it looks like, Asian cinema, make directors cut, by cutting scenes from an actual product but not using extra footage that they must have had shot.
I am relieved now, that film actually was lacking something. Not in acting, not in story but proper execution.
Ye yes, we do, not aggressive, more of an annoyed and surprised that is heart warming for you, when it has too many toxicity going on. I was on blood boil the whole time when their exes in the picture ruining them all the time.
I truly felt pain of SML only once when he walked passed by FL in the hospital, knowing no good will come if he keeps destroying. Him being ignoring as if she was never there really broke my heart.
I agree with a registered voter. BTW you yourself is not registered. A blue tick user is verified and registered…
Not a problem, and yes ratings should only be allowed for a verified accounts, whether unverified account have any impact or not. But they will never do so.
Actually what happens is, some scenes are deliberately cutt off and later be released in film version, for Wish You also this was the case. I am also having difficulty, understanding some scenes that is out of no where. So wait for film for some extra scenes.
The placing order is based on your personal likeness and I respect that.
But acting wise entire list order is wrong. But all mentioned actresses are excellent, I am glad you mentioned Zhou, her performance in Better Days is out of this world.
"would rather be a widow than a divorcee"... she proved what she said.
She wrapped all the matters of her life, and saved the dessert last.
It is an ending, let for audience to decide, whether it was real or fake.
Han Woo Sung deserved that end, as no explanation he could give to redeem what he has been doing all this time and she made it clear, she will hear none.
Without debating who she ends up with, the CHEMISTRY of SJ and LJG is off the charts, the unrequited love is always sizzling hot.
She does not love SJ - thats a fact - but in not knowing how SJ truly feels for her, they end up like a perfect couple every time they share a screen and I never felt that chemistry with SH.
Whoever say SJ isn't for LJG, is a complete liar and they CLEARLY know how great she looks with SJ, it is just our usual RANT that main couple should remain same.
Nobody has a valid reason that why SJ can't have LJG, except that she doesn't love him.
We as a viewer see SJ as a SML and thats an only reason people can't see her with him.

But for female ex, no excuse, not even pity.

Lol, it didn't looked pushy at all. it was in cute category as both hearts were fluttered, only HJW will realise it later.
I also think the restaurant owner likes HJW. Lets see for last 3 epi.
I love his subtle actions, I think the incident in restaurant is similar to what happened between KSJ and HJW.
Love it!
