Only if they could understand like this. But they wont. It is a hot mess. And the producers will rush it in last 2 epsiodes and be prepared for a 2-3 epsiodic breakup of lead and then bittersweet ending.
You are being too critical. BL is something not even common in SK, so it is like a baby steps they are taking and actors who are playing are actually risking their career by choosing such roles. I agree, far better BL are there but given it still something in its very initial stages, their efforts are praise worthy. Regarding this series there weren't "multiple" plot lines, it had only one, and focus on series of 10-12 minutes was solely on male leads. They could have made more mature content, or something exceptional, it still doesn't swayed me from the fact, these things requires money and good production values, which are extremely rare for BL industry, in a country who does not even acknowledge it existence.
So be patient, as more content gonna come. If this continues like that.

As I said, earlier If I were to critique this drama, I would give 0, because it has too many plot holes and non-sense.
But I didn't because it is a complete recipe made to hit. Stellar cast, rating achiever plot so they couldn't care less if going north they should take count all accurate stuff. They did their best and plus, this is one fo those dramas, if you critique and look for accuracies you will end up hating it.
It has famous leads, chemistry top notch, cinematography class, background score melo and romantic, separation, hatred, strong personalties, tension between love, grief, unspoken love between leads, bad female family, powerful male family, and good old gang of male friends who protect their sister in law at any cost. Plus all side character never felt ordinary.
So I am not sure or dare to go as far as to look for accuracies for drama like this it is simple, typical, cheesy and cliche Korean drama - that I would watch again and again. And frankly speaking apart from some 1% Korean dramas, all are out of the line, that falls no where near accuracy.
I didn't like any of this writer's previous works. Dropped two and fast forwarded the third just for the sake…
Yes this series hasn't explored her full potential, she feels like a total side character, even though she is second in billed cast. IDK, why they made her character like that, if the focus was ML only.
I commented earlier, so I want to correct myself. I may not be a fan of PBG, for some strange reason. But I noticed something special about him. Whenever he has to say something important, his eyes gets teary. It's a sign of true feelings in shape of words you are saying. When you get water in your eyes, saying something so sincere, that makes you either sad or happy, our neurotransmitter act as a natural painkiller. And it is a rare quality for an actor, who is just saying lines, that are not real. In all of his scenes, he gets water in his eyes.
Last time, I saw someone doing that was Jung Hae-In (an actor in a league of his own) in Something In The Rain, when he reads a voice message of his girlfriend, and his emotions pours out, in that scene I just can't decide if he was acting or real.
I never thought I would find this show somewhat ok. Since I am in minority, who doesn't found Park Bo-Gum extra-ordinary, or all the hype he is been getting since Reply or other projects - and I am entitled to like or dislike (not gonna accept any hate on this).
Having said this, ROY is good, it may not show the extreme competition (as some of other films and drams have shown already) of showbiz, but it touches the reality of ones struggle in a world not seen honorable by parents, family relatives... and it is the same around the world, not only from where I am.
The family drama, in my view is too much, I can't stand HH mothers as well, she is a "soft villain" also, HH is a cunning person, who hasn't shown his full colors yet. His face tells you he is no innocent. He tagged HJ with him purposely, - to lower his self esteem, and not to let him move forward.
I just love grandfather, he is too good, when he cried with his grandson, it is first for me in K dramas, to see haraabuji sobbing. And I loved that scene. I am just hoping, there are not unnecessary couple suffering scenes, separation or too much meddling.
For once show a fair competition between good and bad - not always bad leading good, only to be forgiven at the end easily to a viewer is demanding.
This drama was amazing. I really loved the ending!... But can we please talk about how the final episode LITERALLY…
Yeah right, I mean was sad, that Yuki and Akira gonna only had 5 minutes of together, but when I saw Yu Xi-gu and Xiang Hao-ting, I exploded with happiness. It was ending done right.
But there was a room for 1 more episode - a little glimpse to their journey afterwards.
This drama tells you speak up... don't lock your lips... you are poor, miserable, no power, nothing.... but you must have your confidence, otherwise you will forever be busy pleasing people just because you don't have the heart to hurt anyone.
This drama, has some shittiest and greedy friends, they blame, cry and gather sympathy on their won mistakes. Daebak, I mean just daebak!

I ak annoyed every second LJK appears. Even mostly she doesn't have dialogues in secens, my heart explodes out if anxiety just seeing her face.
As an actor she nailed her character that is why we are hating her so much.
