EP5 was the one where original AH stopped and got banned and we never got to see what happened after that, finally a version that can satisfy the long lasting wait that even Stay With Me couldn't fulfilled.
I am so glad...this is better than many...unfortunately people are too busy comparing then just enjoying.
It was based on the series and they followed it, however, US has 2 season, and Judges finished the mob after serving time. But here there is no news for second season, even though it should continue. But since Korean drama has ML-FL concept, this series has no young actors and side characters, so the possibility for season 2 just for the sake of Judge to avenge and finish the job, is not enough.
war's acting is truly amazing. for me he is one of the best thai actors together with gun atthaphan !!
Gun is incomparable. He is very low key but those who knows that how famous he and well known face he is. He is almost all directors favorite and is a first generation BL actor, who has acted in all kind of genres, dark, gore, lgbtq, erotic, psycho and what not. He is 30 years old, and has spent 20 years in front of camera, so his status is way above of all actors.
I’m blown away by War’s acting. I’ve always liked him and watched everything he’s been in. He’s truly a next-level actor and has grown so much during the time he was away.
Also, I often say he has a "pungent" voice. While that word is usually used for smells, whenever I hear War’s voice, it strikes me in the same way—distinct and impactful. It’s different, and that’s what makes it stand out.
War's acting is just the highlight of this series....
ps wish they could translate text, and some images that were important. I had to use my own translator to know. Very good start.
I think the comments after the last two episodes are more negative and misleading than the episodes themselves.
First, the reveal of the cooking endeavor was perfectly fine. Her mother didn’t object because the FL spoke eloquently and addressed everything. The father is in denial because he feels responsible for her career choice, which stems from her previous job—one that the people in Korea regard with high esteem, almost as if she had become president. His reaction was natural. However, the brother needs a break. He was sweet at first but suddenly rubbed me the wrong way. I understand the FL has been through a lot, but if she doesn’t speak up, how will people know?
I also think the FL’s ex had less of a presence than expected, not more. Her mother gave him a hard time—she wasn’t pushing her daughter back into his arms, but rather trying to patch things up, since she didn’t know the details of their breakup. It’s only natural to try and fix things when you don’t know the reason behind the split. Despite this, she remained hostile toward the ex. Regarding their breakup, it doesn’t seem like it was a big deal, and I’m sure of that.
Second, the issue with the ring is completely untrue. Given her personality, she was likely just trying to see how it felt. From the trailers and other clips, we know she won’t end up with her ex. Everything will hinge on her illness reveal, which will change everything. I hope her illness doesn’t return and that the ML goes all out to save her. This will be his moment.
As for the funeral hall renovation, it could be seen as his way of thanking the universe for keeping the FL alive, as he wants to honor the place where sorrow resides—where he nearly lost her.
That said, I’m prepared for either ending. Sometimes, sadness in a rom-com can be just as meaningful as a happy ending. Recently, there have been a lot of series with happy endings, so one like this wouldn’t hurt.
Highly disappointed. Such a talented cast and a good concept, but poor execution and writing. Seven episodes in, and there is no uniformity. Is it a non-linear script? Did she try to emulate Tarantino or Nolan from Memento, attempting to piece scenes together and merge everything in the final climax? I don’t think so. The first seven episodes feel mundane if she's trying to set up a big twist in the final episode.
PS: I was highly impressed by Sammon's writing for the past storyline in DFF. It felt as though the past was written by someone entirely different, with the present story handled by separate writer. The writing for the past storyline was absolutely perfect.
Sammon could have kept the story alive here by using more of a 4-Min concept but instead she used it as divergence to make it enthralling but in the end, it fell short on excitement.
The wife's parents have no right to cry. I hope they suffer miserably. When she came to them with injuries, they didn't even open the door for her. What right do they have to shed tears or place blame now? May the sky fall upon them and the earth swallow them into its deepest depths, only to spit them out again, and then take them back in. I hope their misery never ends, and they continue to live in pain and illness.
It's quite clear that Lao Liu isn't participating in any promotions, interviews, or public appearances for the sake of his career. I hope people don't expect him to act like other actors from ROC, as he is from the PROC. Appearing in promotions could mean jeopardizing his career.
It's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation. He can act in a BL series in another country and still work in mainland China without issues, as long as he doesn't promote himself with the series. However, if he joins other cast members in promotions, he risks facing the same fate as other actors who now can't even talk or sit next to each other in public due to similar controversies.
this is going to be eps, love punishing fitly human beings...I know she is not going to bare mercy, as write took inspiration from a verdict given to a crime so lenient that she created this character to punish the human trash...so it is going to be good.
CNG has this obsession with him, that it is starting to feel dangerous, that she will be the last hurdle for him to be clear all this. Either she is helping him or trapping him to leave the town and go to Seoul with her. What if she knew all along that he was innocent, but since she was in love with him, she saw Daeun murder but kept her silence and now she is visiting doctor and all, as in EP she was no longer this innocent, she had this slimy smile on her face that tells something otherwise.
ps. The whole village is just disgusting, they knew all along who murdered the girls, and kept their silence, and frame an innocent person , destroyed his parents, and now one of the murderer's father owns his parents business, given to them as compensation for their son's crime???? What world we line in??? This is rotten to the core, Idk how much is exaggeration or how much is true, but such depiction of Korean society (of course there are other societies) in one drama after the other is just disgusting.
Just to be clear what the director said for the record:
"of course we are gonna have some kisses scenes, but there is even more kiss scenes and s*x in season 2, so you are gonna have to ask production for season 2, season 2, we all want season 2"
He means that the remaining material in the book contains more intimate scenes, but they were not included in this production. As for season 2, he is urging the producers to make it happen so the remaining content can be adapted. However, do not spread rumors that a second season is confirmed. He is simply saying that more intimate scenes could be included if there were a season 2.
But as always, the Japanese mother totally ignored what Kohei was going through in that scene and made stupid…
I don’t know about your environment, but in our Asian culture, there exists an unspoken language between many relationships. Silence and subtle gestures often convey what words do not. Our tears are our words. You might call it wrong or wish it were different, but this is how we are. Unlike in the West, where openness is valued, we don’t always express everything out loud. Our suffering is private—whether that’s right or wrong is beside the point. This was not what the moment in question was about.
His mother may not understand the deeper reasons behind his sorrow, but she is already overwhelmed with helplessness, knowing that his hearing is worsening and she can do nothing to stop it. Even if she sensed his unrequited love, she wouldn’t bring it up. She respects his choice to remain silent, understanding that if he wished to speak, he would. In her own quiet way, she chose to console him—not with words, but by sharing his tears. In that moment, her silence was not a failure; it was an act of love. There is nothing wrong or negative about that.
