they want nsa to be portrayed 100% evil, in the drama they're still in grey area. like some of them must be evil who frames people but there are some of them who really chases spies

i hope it makes sense : [Truth]: there is no spy in 1987, it's just NSA excuse to capture activists, accusing them as NK spies. while in [Drama]: NSA isn't particularly good and righteous but there are indeed spies from NK and they were chasing them because they're from NK, not because they're people who fight for SK democracy

hahaha yeah he might be some random lost guy in south korea but it already justifies something, that there were indeed a group of suspicious guys from nk who kidnaps people (prof han?) that's why NSA mistook so many people as spies, not particularly because they wanted to oppress SK activists

Ep 1 > ep 2. i'm not so sure if this drama could air until ending. I mean yes snowdrop portray two different views and sides, like young ro's roommates directly said that "cops frame people and call them communists", but then again one of nsa agent said "dont let people think we falsely accuse someone again", it's like they choose to make nsa in a good light rather than 100% siding with demonstrants. Also the ml is indeed a spy from nk and that's already historical distortion according to people who complain.

imo kim hye yoon really shines in eps 1 more than anyone else. oh, and maybe because i have seen worse acting from idol debut on small screen but jisoo is already great for me. of course there is room for improvement but she's totally watchable.

Ep 1 is good enough to make you sit and watch. It's not too slow or too fast in terms of pacing. Politic and spy introduction parts are boring to me but once the spy scene was tied with ml it's not anymore. Is jisoo bad? i wouldnt say that "she's definitely not like rookie", but "she's surprisingly good as rookie", she's expressive, at least, not stiff. she needs to learn more about subtle acting tho. For me, the chemistry between those female residents in dorm is the best from ep 1

i am a non korean but as far as i know. in korea, 1987 people were accused for being spies and tortured, killed, and/or jailed. while SK people believe that the truth is there was no spy at that time. Nah, the drama was like propaganda that there were indeed spies at that time

it's quite hard to get 9++ rating in mdl. but snowdrop was even rated 9.3/9.4 before it aired. so there would be some adjustment

imo the dorm itself is already interesting haha it's just me i dont mind dramas with light genres.. same, i was so tempted to skip politics and spy scenes. especially the wives at the store? who tf are they how dare they taint the innocent vibes from the dorm scenes
