That's unfortunate! As a big fan of the novel I hope I'll love the drama as well. There are plenty of engaging…
I dont usually speak in english so my choice of word is limited sorry if you dont get it. Yes it was told in 3rd person pov but it's mainly focused on Ji Yunhe. And what i mean by emptiness is that i dont really get the scope of other characters since for the most parts of book yunhe was locked up or in prison or in confinement. Thus i dont get attached to other characters, for example there are a few couples there, like Luo Jinsang x Monk, Ning Jing x Ning Xiyu, Li Shu x Xue Sanyue but we rarely get glimpse and development of them. Even for Changyi I really wonder what he's doing in 6 years while they're apart, how did he become a renowned ruler from an innocent and straightforward merman. I usually prefer 1st person pov but for a book this long, with a narrator who spent most of her life in prison. Maybe I do want equal amount of many angles for this book.
Not sure why none of those who have read the novel did not respond. All I can say, the novelist is Jiu Lu Fei…
Well from what i've seen from trailer there are some changes, e.g. more interactions between leads. And for novel. i wouldnt say it's no good, just missing some parts, therefore i look forward to watching the supposed to be better series
just finished the novel.. not a big fan of the story. told from one sided view, i felt like there are emptiness everywhere, kind of. hope the series could fill it. but sentences are easy to understand. both fl and ml characters are decent.
