Exactly!! They need to be able to separate relationships according to time settings but really that's not the case. I've seen viewers criticized or questioned about CX's and XY's relationship. Let's say if CX and XY being the endgame, I can see fans bashing that they are cousincs etc. Chinese fans are extra toxic too.

Yes, it would be a turn off when viewers use their modern perspective to watch an ancient setting drama. In those times, it's normal to marry first cousins as long as the children are not of two male siblings since they bore the same family name.

I feel that dramas of traffic stars most of the time get targeted and downrated because of fierce competition to keep their own stars on top. Whereas less known ones, you don't see this going on. Take The Double for example. It's didn't have this issue. Hopefully, LYF will get a better rating than a measly 8.3.

I know they have a great relationship as is. It's too bad he's unable to let go and resolve his feelings. I love ZWY as CX as well.

I totally understand where he's coming from in losing almost all his loved ones. Don't forget about his childhood trauma. He is so desperate to hold on to XY so much so that he's losing his sensibility.
